Makos on the strip

Who partied at Makos? Late 90’s/early 2000’s.
You went there for one purpose and it delivered, especially after a big rave.
What’s your experience there?
I once had an undercover cop try drag me out after purchasing a tab.
Had a friend that was run by a bunch of cops and had a close call while he he was purchasing a bunch of X for all of us.
Had this girl I would hag out for a few weekends there and some guy tried to tell me she had AIDS, her friends said he was trying to scare me away because he liked her.

Already had a girl so I was more of a the Keg / Loose Caboose guy. The strip was the place back then for sure though.
My girl loved the 50 cent melon ball shots at the loose caboose, they had good fried cheese there too if you got the munchies. We’d hang there after we finished shooting pool at the Keg across the street.
Don’t forget about Nightcaps too.
And if we didn’t have enough by 2am, you could always head out to Lake Martin to the Kingfish / Strawberries to keep the party going.

A shame too.
It was so awesome being able to walk from bar/club to bar/club, even girls were able to do that on their own without worry.
Now...no way I'd advise any girl to do such.

Used to go quite a bit to try to sober up before making the drive back home from Laffy. There were even a few times when I was just too tired and tossed and went sleep in my car at the old rest area that used to be close to where like the Target off of Louisiana Avenue.

Mostly a Shanahans and Nitecaps guy. If I ended up in Makos it’s because the night went off the rails and details got really sketchy. Good times!

Spent many nights there in early 90s. Club 94.5. The ice block shooters are a good memory.
