If aliens ever actually came to Earth, this is them, and the octopus as well.

Borderline terrifying how intelligent those things are.

As a longtime salt water aquarium hobbyist, I discourage the practice of squid and octopus being held in a tank. Highly intelligent, these creatures develop psychological distress in a restricted environment.

That’s not say that individual cases occur where they are comfortable. However,I’ve seen octopuses tear off one of their arms because of the stress.

I remember the good old days when we'd use squid for bait and our pet was a dog.

Always found that surprising considering they are generally solitary animals. Maybe it’s lack of stimuli and the fact that they are so intelligent

We used to catch them in our shrimp net off the pier at grand isle. They'll bite the shite out of you if you let them.

Fairly overstated in general. Yes smart, but they aren't some crazy 8 legged geniuses. They can problem solve well.

Hummm

Yea if I were an octopus this is definitely the direction I would take the narrative to throw anyone off to how smart I really was.

Are there any humans being kept as pets under the sea by octopi????

They aren’t that smart.
