I'm sorry about your doggy.
Her eyes were indeed beautiful.

You'll always have her memory.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.”

Man I wish dogs lived 100 years.

I agree with your sentiment. I love dogs.

But as much as I hate burying a dog, the thought of me dying first and what would happen to them actually really bothers me.

Best dog I ever had was also a female Aussie that looked ALOT like Ellie. Her name was Lucy and I miss her still.

Dogs give us a bit of heaven on earth. Will Rogers said one, If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where the dogs went.

You wish all people could have a relationship with an animal like that. When I wake up my lab Max, who is 14 years old, will get up after me and get his half of a slice of cheese. My other dog gets the other half. Then he comes by my chair for hugs and petting while I drink coffee and read TD, like right now. Then its outside for bathroom time and then back to the dog bed where he lays for well over 6 hours only to get out of his bed to lay on the wooden floors because it's a bit cooler than the fluffy bed in the summertime. Dogs are the best.
