Why should being vaccinated matter? If I walk into a room with 50 people that are vaccinated and 50 people that aren't and everybody is mask less. The only people at risk (which is small) are the people who aren't vaccinated and have chosen not to wear a mask. Why should it matter to vaccinated people if I'm not wearing a mask? I can't catch it from you and you can't catch it from me.

My job makes me wear it when I'm walking around away from my desk. I hate it.

Is just a game to get more vaccinated.

I know this isn't the PT board, so I'll keep it light. A Senator called out Foochi this week about giving funding to a lab in a Chinese province that is suspect in having created this bat thing. Dots are being connected? Something Foochi going on.

I went to the gym and some old man was complaining about not requiring masks to the manager. “You’re going to spread infections. People are breathing all over.” I was tempted to punch him. They’ve been indoctrinated.

Honestly, they've had a messaging problem during the entire pandemic. To get people to wear masks and take other precautions, they had to pivot to the most extreme and irrational positions, shortly after focusing on panic-control and downplaying. On top of that, they have to appeal to the stupidest people in the population in order to have any effect and gain compliance. It made those managing the crisis seem as though they were just shooting from the hip, with no real expertise at all.

The real answer to this is that it has been horribly botched from the very beginning. There's really no other answer.

They've realized that they've about hit the peak in adults that will get the vaccine. They were hoping to hit the 60-70% vaccinated before lifting the mask mandate. I don't actually know that for fact, but just reading between the lines.

True, and it is mostly their fault. They created vaccine-hesitancy with the pausing of the J&J vaccine for some stupid reason that has literally a one in a million chance of happening. They have themselves to blame, and yes, they're trying to incentivize further uptake of the vaccine to un-do the damage that they have done.

Meh, the other 2 vaccines have been proven safe many times over. If anyone had hesitancy over the J&J pause, they're ignorant.

BUt I doubt that had much impact to begin with. There was vaccine hesitancy long before the J&J pause.

Did the manager tell him he was welcome to leave?

The only people who should care really are those who can't develop an immune response to the vaccine (transplant patients) or otherwise cannot take the vaccine due to medical issues. Of course the people that love these people care as well.

But that is a very specific group of people and that was true before COVID, and society as a whole can't operate around them, even though the situation is sad.

Maybe, and correlation isn't causation, but first dose uptake fell right after the JandJ pause announcement. It has started to recover in the past week.

People were led to think they were doing something virtuous by wearing a mask all day when there’s been very little evidence they do any good in stopping community transmission.

Their last ditch effort for people to get the vaccine

Because wtf is the incentive to get vaccinated if literally nothing changes after you do it?

Over 20% have had Covid + over 50% have had a vaccine=the goal of herd immunity.
