Xanax works quick but doesn’t last as long.
Klonopin works slower and lasts longer.
Xanax better for acute panic attack treatment.
Klonopin better for general all day anxiety.
SSRIs work too especially if anxiety is caused by underlying depression, but generally take a few weeks to be fully effective.

Honestly don't go down the prescription route for anxiety meds. They all work on some level or another, and they work well - but never again.
I just went through weaning myself of of them and it absolutely sucked. Not to mention that since I started them I've gained weight, got high blood pressure, lost the will to exercise, sexual issues, etc.
So at the end of the day I traded panic attacks for getting fat, having high blood pressure, getting lazy, becoming partially impotent, and had to deal with detoxing off the meds. Thankfully I have started keto and am now trying to reverse everything else that came along with it.

I took the lowest dose of Zoloft for about three months. Worked for me. Now, I just eat half of an pot edible, if needed (or wanted).

Trazadone. Will help you relax and sleep better too. Of course, seek medical guidance....

Those sound like good questions for, maybe, your doctor.

Try an all meat diet for a few weeks.

Pussy. Time tested and proven. A BJ from a slight chubby girl runs a very close second place.

Yes but I don’t think they have gummy’s yet.. my anxiety was due to other medical problems not cancer but the gummy’s were available in that context..

Much better option than getting a pharmaceutical.

my counselor recommended
How come the counseling isn't working to alleviate your anxiety? Do you follow through with what is discussed or assignments or just blab for 45 minutes?
Can you take some time off and take a road trip vacay for some hiking in a National park or something or the sort?
Can you try meditation - lots of apps out there.
It's an adjustment period if you recently went through a divorce (assuming you don't have a preexisting history of anxiety). It may take 1-2 yrs. I'm sure the current "pandemic" and all that it has changed hasn't helped your stress level.
