They aren't going as close as the Artemis 1 mission which passed 81 miles above the surface of the moon. They are passing over 6,000 miles above the surface on the manned mission. Not sure what kind of images they will get?
Wait…they aren’t landing. Well how do we know Astronauts went and not just an unmanned craft that’s taking pictures? The belt wins again

Money won't speed progress,
This is partly so.
NASA (and Boeing - Artemis core stage contractor) have a severe case of DEI. At this point, it is enculturated. Until that is uprooted, pumping more funding into them would result in stoopid initiatives like Muslim outreach, etc.
IDK where China stands with their space program. They play dirty. I would not underestimate their ability to make advances.

Nope. They aren't landing. Artemis II is a manned shakedown flight to make sure systems are operating nominally. Artemis III (scheduled for 2027) is the flight that will land humans on the moon.
But let's be honest - they could take a selfie at the Apollo 11 landing site or sit in the rover Apollo 17 left behind and you still wouldn't believe it was real.

My sarcasm apparently wasn’t detected

Who thinks they make that Feb. 6th date?
Bet it gets scrubbed and
postponed.
Ok, watched the video. She said the launch window opens as early as Feb. 6 and then they will assess.

I’d like to assess her.

The thing is not even reusable.

How's the recycling company's reusable lunar rocket going? Does it finally leave low earth orbit in 2026?

No ones says we haven't flown around the moon or put shite.on the moon. Most that have an issue with the moon landing is the human aspect of the whole deal. All theyre doing is flying around the moon.
I bet that the china/russia teamup put humans on the actual moon before we do "again".
No actually the entire conspiracy is based on the theory that we haven't sent a human more than 1000 miles off planet.

The money spent on this can be spent on so many other things that can directly impact lives in a more positive way.

It's not your money.

Space spending isn’t abstract science money, it’s one of the most direct pipelines to everyday tech we have. People just forget where it came from.
