Late Night is toast.
Parents watching TV after their kids go to bed simply have more and better options now.

Nate is a good option.
Craig Ferguson was the GOAT, and I didn't watch him at the time. He was the only guy who really got the absurdity of it all.

Disney is not that outraged by what Kimmel said. However, they are seeing it as an opportunity to cut bait on an antiquated format from a bygone era of TV without having to pay a buyout. CBS already announced they were dumping the late night show format. This is a gift for ABC/Disney

He was awful as well during his appearance on ManningCast.
He talked about this. There was a terrible delay on his end. It threw everyone off.

Did he talk about why he had his dad performing magic tricks?

Only Craig Ferguson can save late night.

Yeah, but I don't remember exactly what it was. I think it was setting something up, but they cut away prematurely. That may not be 100% correct. He did say Peyton apologized to him for the tech issues.

I doubt Nate wants to do the late night thing though, himself. He's way too busy. He's planning a theme park, production company, etc. Now he may eventually have something like a late night show under his umbrella, but I doubt he's the host.

Theo Von or nothing
I like Theo but at some point we need to address his appearance. He always looks like a hungover post-grad.

Once he's done with the weird arse made up stories of his youth, I don't find him as funny or engaging. Sometimes his hair reminds me of Joe Dirt

No. Nate needs to focus on rebuilding Opryland as Nateland.
Nate Bargatze isn't joking about building 'Nateland' in Nashville

I think Late Night is done. The only thing that gets massive ratings on live network television is pretty much sports. With online streaming and unlimited options it is dying off. Fallon will be next.

None of those are off the cuff

but he is not particularly funny off the cuff with interviews
The current batch of late night hosts weren't/aren't funny at all during off the cuff interviews.
Major networks would never do it, but Theo and Caleb from Sundae Conversations are great and more in line with what people think is funny these days.
No one wants to watch "so I hear you're in a new movie with Brie Larson, she's got a lot of cheese!" *canned audience laugh*

Conan O'brian (I don't know how to spell it) would be the only one I'd watch.

Nah, rather Nate focus on standup.
Bring back Craig Ferguson.

That would be a demotion for him. He is the stand-up king right now.

Heck, David Letterman and some his bits back in the 80's and 90's were pretty funny. One time he sent Calvert DeForest on a Pan American tour where they were going to drive to South America (Joke was on them as you cannot drive to South American). There are some clips where Dave worked the Drive Thru at a McDonalds and a Taco Bell. And his all time favorite, the Top Ten List. But the highlight of the show was the chemsitry between Dave and Paul.
I also liked the inside baseball stuff that Dave would say about the inner workings of the TV business. In one bit he did was about playing Eagles music. It must have gone on for about 10-20 minutes discussing if they were going to pay 250k to play just a few seconds of Eagles music.
