Probably some dipshit not listening up on the radios thinking they were cleared to cross.. Runway incursions are getting out of hand.

Also, a big frick YOU to the FAA for tasking controllers with multiple frequencies(no idea if that’s a player in this situation), but most controllers are simulcasting on multiple frequencies these days. Absolute shite show.

thanks to that we have the "Land App" SWA has gotten away with a lot of "cowboy" type flying over the years because , no matter what you think of them, they're a glorified commuter airline, and they are way behind IT wise, they're winter fiasco is an example of that

I have a lot of military friends in that pilot group. Would and have literally go/gone to war with any of them. Outstanding pilots, but goddamn I hate that company.

I relish stonewalling them.
Southwest is pushing off the gate next to us? Bet I can beat them to the hold short line.

All the guys I know at SW freaking love it there, so much so, it's kinda weird. Cultish.

Granted, I haven't talked to most of them in a couple of years, so the shine may have worn off, but they were the most outspoken about company love, right up there with my FedEx buddies.

the pilot went full throttle and we ascended and started circling the runway for another attempt to land

Has happened to me three times and my anxiety kicks in everytime because I know everything is out of whack now and planes (the one im riding in) are not where originally planned.

I am at 1.5m myself. What status are you? Delta has really struggled lately in my eyes with service and I am a Diamond. So much so that my loyalty is on the way down, significantly. That coupled with their significant price differences and I can’t rationalize it. For example, I have to fly SWA today due to a schedule necessity. I resolved something in 7 mins with their chat yesterday. Shoot with DL I wouldn’t have even have been connected to an agent yet.

Non-US flight crews who speak poor English are a big safety risk IMO.

Based pilot pals' stories, I fear those from the Middle East flying big A380's and B777's the most.

People mock Southwest but I don't think they have had a single crash in the history of the organization.

The engine failure that caused the fatality on a SW flight a few years ago could have easily resulted in a crash had a different flight crew been involved. Rapid depressurization and loss of an engine can and will put a plane into an unrecoverable situation without quick, disciplined action from a skilled aviator.

Fortunately, the captain had a strong military background (first officer may have too). She knew a thing or two about flying and was well-trained to handle an emergency in the cockpit. While even one death due to a lack of diligent maintenance/repair is tragic and inexcusable, the loss of life could have exponentially worse.

I don’t know what SWA’s current hiring practices are, but that was one thing I thought they always did right: hire real pilots, not just switch-flippers and seat-warmers. However, if they’ve reached the point where they can’t even count on having people in the cockpit who can hand-fly an aircraft that isn’t operating normally, then they’ll be the next ValuJet in no time.

Not to not pick but you had to go back to 2019 to find a supporting example?

You're correct that my comments are based on heresay from a few pilots.

AV Herald doesn't show an unusual number of reported US incidents with that carrier.

Was Diamond for 12 years in a row before Covid. Lifetime Gold now. If ever hit Diamond again, I hope somebody shoots me.

If you look at the news feeds, I did an interview with Fox 8 out of NO yesterday. I was back at the airport today, flying to Denver, then Tampa. I am using SouthWest. Not because of what happened Friday, but because Delta does nothing to differentiate themselves post Covid. I flew SWA twice to Hawaii in the past 4 months and would choose them again in a heartbeat.

By the time I connected with a medallion support person Friday/Saturday, I was half-way to Houston...with my own resolution. I bet you half the people on that flight are still not home. Delta is bad right now and for years I considered them "my" airline
