Cuba might set a pick for him. Monday will have more clear picture.

Right now they are saying it will be south, so he should see manageable wind and rain. It would be a cool distance to see it from if the track holds.
Getting drunk at Hemingway's house during a 'cane would be a great story for the grandkids.

I remember us puckering quite a bit growing up through the 00’s and only really getting hit by one (Lilly in ‘02). Remember us freaking out thinking we were gonna get wrecked by it then only having a few shingles missing when we got back home.
This just fricked my mind for a minute until I realized that there is a very distinct possibility that you haven't always lived in Wichita.

well the GFS is showing a big arse ridge over the southeastern US by the time Beryl gets to the gulf

It’s going to be pretty remarkable if this thing turns out to be a major hurricane when it’s coming through the Windward Islands. Almost unprecedented to see that sort of action out there in June/very early July.

Climate change is undeniable

Working to save some of Hemingway's polyacrylic cats would be a closer connection to Hemingway. Anybody can get drunk.

It’s passing south of Cuba and is very small. It might not even rain in the Keys

I wish you hadn't said this. Now I'm going to be obsessively researching June hurricanes, which is an issue because all the usual sites/articles only seem to cover rare US land falls in June. I want to find something that covers all Atlantic June hurricanes (major or not), regardless of US land fall.
Because I believe it is important to understand what an area/time/climate is capable of (however rare it may be) before saying things like, "Climate change is undeniable.", as the poster who replied to you said.
This is a similar approach I try to get through to people who say their areas don't get violent tornadoes in severe/tornado threads. It is important to understand what an area is capable of on the rare occasion that everything lines up perfectly. Having the knee-jerk reaction to immediately blame it all on climate change is just lazy.

That is the next thing to watch as we move towards any Gulf scenario. The models show the ridge axis sliding eastward and a weak trough dropping in over the Southern Plains as Beryl moves over the Yucatan, but that is out beyond Day 7. Timing and strength of those features will matter a lot, but the ridge probably keeps the eastern Gulf clear unless there is a big change in the models.

94L might get tagged Chris as it slides across the Southern BOC and into Mexico.
