I can tell you are proud of your decision. Good for both of you! I gave all that up when I met my wife almost 30 years ago. Nobody could compare to her, but she didn't hold out on giving it up either.

Unless he is willing to be celibate, which he isn't and he shouldn't, then he needs to amicably break it off and move on. Otherwise, he is just prolonging the inevitable. He will wind up cheating and then he will be the bad guy. Might as well just be up front with her now and move on before something bad happens. This is assuming that she is telling the truth of course. At 18, he should be banging sluts and having fun. He will not get this time back. There will be plenty of time for celibacy when he gets married. My biggest regrets are being in long term relationships through some of my prime years. There was sex, sure. But it was with only one person. And that is a tragedy.

My wife was a virgin when we married. She was very involved with a lot of campus ministry stuff at a small school in college. I had a normal LSU/college sex life. Neither of the our pasts mattered when we started dating as we both really liked on another and we’re pretty open about them. 14 years later we just had our 3rd kid and life is pretty awesome.
This girl sounds awesome I’m not sure what the issue is, either he’s into her enough to not have sex or he isn’t.
ETA: he’s 18 years old, he’s not going to marry this girl either way. He should do what he wants because he’s got a lot of life to live. Good for her if she keeps up her celibate lifestyle.

I know. ..lol. I was surprised by some responses. I didn't realize so many are still in the 60s as far as talking to their kids about sex. I got taught nothing and by the grace of something much larger than me I didn't become a father before I was ready.
I vowed not to make that mistake when it was my turn to raise boys. We teach our sons about everything else, why not that?
