If you look at the picture and indentation, clearly the ball embedded almost on the centerline of the cup, directly behind the pin. On that trajectory, the ball would have hit the pin.
If that’s truly the case, what a douche one must be to vandalize a golf course. That’s something that would happen at Bushwood.

Had this exact thing happen to a playing partner in a golf tournament I was playing in about 25 years ago....They called the club pro out to rule. He measured as to how much was within the cylinder and he ruled it to be mostly inside the cylinder...It was ruled a hole in one.
