How are those poor different from inner city poor? Are they not getting the same handouts that lead to obesity? Or are they making different choices?

Those are Obama phones aren’t they? Are you insinuating these baws are spending rent money on a high data phone plan?

That would be the smallest piece of my insinuation.

My company works with low income people to help them fix credit issues toward buying a first time home or start a small business.

You would not believe the number of people who have no money saved, don't really make that much, but eat out almost every meal, and always have the newest phone and data plans.

Totally agree. I have a prepaid IPhone SE (I like because it’s smaller and fits in my pocket easier) and a $40/mo cell plan. I refuse to pay a lot for a cell phone that depreciates so fast, even though I have the income to.

I think most junior high kids have more expensive phones than I do.

Poverty here now is having an iPhone 12 . Very few are actually going hungry and completely destitute

Go Overseas where you see real actual poverty and it will change your life. It did for me. I’ve become much less materialistic. I don’t need stuff just to have it. I’m content with what I’ve got which is already more than 99% of the world

100%

Most of the gum bangers have never left the United States but think they have a grasp on this world. Fools.

Most people have house notes far past when they should be paying on a house.

Leasing cars is stupid.

50% of people dont utilitze their 401K, the numbers are actually inflated because some companies deposit money even if the employee isnt enrolled.

Most people spoil their children instead of raising them, so now they get to be poor just like mom and dad when they retire.

The list is very long.

Had to sit thru a chamber of commerce lunch about poverty in LA. Lady was talking about Tensas, Madison, and E Carroll parish being the worst and 70% of everyone is on assistance. Bitch please. Everyone I know there has three cash hustles on top of SNAP. Theyre doing just fine by NELA standards. If your starving in LA, it's cuz you're lazy.

I don't know where idiots like you get your information. You might find a few that beats the system, but you aren't going to get free SNAP benefits anymore. The welfare system has been reformed. Unemployment benefits have been reduced. This generalizing and stereotyping is annoying. Everybody is not doing well in Louisiana. Why do dumb fricks like you always seem to have the loudest voice on these issues. Everybody is out of work.

We are rapidly moving into the age of ignorance. There are no difference between left or right. You aren't going to gain any supporters going against the working class and spewing this ignorance. This will drive them the opposite way.

Can I also add, that there are no food deserts in America? Especially in the major cities.

We grew up 10 miles from the nearest food center. And 20 miles from the closest Minimax. But we always had something to eat. Now, it's a tragedy if you have to go 3 miles to shoplift.

Go to the Mississippi Delta if you want to see some real poverty. I'm guessing you've never had a reason to go there.

The delta is the poorest part of the country but when you compare it to Afghanistan or Somalia it’s really not that bad.

Agree

If you get a wild hair try Port Au Prince, Haiti. That’ll put some hair on your chest.
