Newsflash-people in the south know how to get along with folks no matter race, color, or creed for a long, long time, unlike some people in the lily white north.

Or just maybe they visit the Plantations and stop in McComb on the way to or from New Orleans or the gulf coast casinos. Wild crazy thought I know.

Okay. I still want to meet a European that comes to America to visit New Orleans, but ends up in McComb, Mississippi, or a European that travels all the way to America to experience the Gulf Coast casinos.

Same thing WAS in Onward, MS in the delta a decade ago. It's in disrepair now.

With dually farmer trucks out front, there were black and white farmers sitting to have mid-morning coffee together.

It's called family style dining and was all the rage in rural areas 40 years ago in East Texas

Fried eggplant was the best thing there and it was damned good.

The fried eggplant alone is worth the trip.

Yep, just wish they had a marinara sauce for it.

Been a couple times on bike rides.

I am sure the food is great. I think the idea of doing this is interesting and great if you like that sort of thing. Personally, I wouldn't like it because I like to keep to myself and if I go out to eat, I would prefer to just do that with my wife and not involve people I don't know. But to each their own.

Had something similar in Chattanooga. Cool experience.

Bea's. It has been a few years, but it was great the last time I was there. Crazy crowds on Sunday.

you elitists are over thinking it, it's not an "anonymous" type meeting, you don't have to introduce yourself and "share," visit if you want to or just eat, but please pass the mashed potatoes and don't forget to put your plate up!

Even though I lived in McComb for 7 years, we only went once a year or so.

Same. Usually would go about 2-3 times a year. But man the food is good.

And yes, I even sat with some "fancy" Europeans that were on the way up from New Orleans headed to Natchez typically.

Not a fan of this idea on cruises either. Or in any setting really.

Can I make small talk and meet people? Yes
Do I want to? Nope

Back in the late ‘70s there was a place like that in Picayune, MS. I think it was called the Brown Door. Owned by a Ms Mitchell.

I've been quite a few times in my life. The experience can be kind of weird. You can have all of the fried eggplant you want to eat though.

Haha seems like it.

Noone is forcing anyone to go to a restaurant based around sharing a meal with strangers.

The people that sign up for this experience are also generally more pleasurable to chat with than the general public.

Ive never had a bad experience there.
