I’ve been taking Zepbound for 18 months and it’s been working down 75 lbs.
With BC/BS Large Group my copay for three months was $27.00, but they stopped allowing it 1/1/2026.
I got the notification that my refill was ready today, there’s no freaking way to justify this bullshite.
Again son, your pmb changed to liviniti and thats only if your a t2. Noway bcbs is picking up the tab for the "normal i wanna lose weight" reasons.

So things that will not drive weight loss. Very smart. Lifting doesn’t cause enough cardio output increase to lose weight and walking does not either. Jogging and other significant aerobic exercise would. Do those and you won’t need meds.
Also to everyone saying it’s a willpower issue and just eat better and exercise more. Is that what you tell an alcoholic? “Why don’t you stop drinking?”

I don’t take any meds on a regular basis but these stories still make me mad. Put these PBMs behind bars. Literally drug dealing pimps.

May i ask what your Cgm and pump your using?
Yes being on the disease program will make prices better.

Wrong again Son
They did pay it until 1/1/26, but will only pay now for diabetes which I don’t have.
Your mother may have made you think you know everything but you don’t

quote:No insurance provider pays for "weight loss" glp-1s. Even if your plan still worked that way your bmi level ornsleep apnea diagnosis originally got you to the low copay which would have been the only way you would qualify for it in the past, would have lowered losing 75lbs anyways. In 2026 only t2 patients will get the low copay. Get your doctor to do an a1c son.

Omnipod and Dexcom, with Fiasp as my insulin.

I get a physical with blood and urine work every year, I’ve never had elevated diabetes markers.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

So, is Zepbound (A) a lifestyle drug, where like Cialis and Viagra for ED it helps and if someone stops taking it then the "gains" are lost?
Or (B) is it a therapeudic drug to help lose the weight, and once you lose the weight, then your body should respond better to diet and exercise since the body is no longer grossly overweight and can achieve similar results to using drugs, but now without the drug?
Which is it?

Do you get prescribed for type2 or weight loss? Most insurance providers will only cover for type2.
I take Ozempic for type2 and it has been a game changer. Lost 60lbs and my A1C has been 5.4 for the last 2 years.

I know one of the directors at bcbs and this is what he told me. He's a pretty smart guy and has no reason to lie but google searches support his assertion.

Can confirm, my United Healthcare plan will not cover Zepbound.

It was for weight loss, while fasting 4 pm-6am daily, walking 2.5 miles daily and lifting 2-3 X a week I lost 75 lbs in 18 months.
What the Zepbound did was make it possible for me to fast daily from 4 pm until 6 am without being too hungry, plus other meals I probably ate half of what I did before using it.
Posted on 1/18/26 at 7:22 am to The Torch
We eat around 5pm most nights and more often than not I don't eat anything until 12-1pm the next day except maybe an espresso. Never thought of that as fasting.
