Damn. Fare thee well, Bobby.

Left behind so much great music, so many incredible performances, and an absolute love for music and a lifelong demonstration of what it means to be a rock and roll legend.

Going to be a Dead kinda night (never a bad thing).

dammit that guy lived one of the greatest lives ever

Absolute legend, and yes, what an incredible life. He hung out with Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady, was part of the Acid Tests, played the freaking pyramid of Giza, and saw so much history.
This is great if y’all haven’t seen it.
‘You had to see it…to see it’
RIP Bobby

Will never forget standing in line for the wooden coaster at Astroworld before the show at the Amphitheater and Weir and Jerry zoomed by at the end of their ride. Weir laughing with arms up and Garcia gripping hard and shaking his head.

Weir was a longtime fitness buff who would go for runs while touring. I also read that he stopped taking acid in the late 60s during the 710 Ashbury St. days.

I saw the Dead many times in the 80's. I was never super into them but my friends were.

Fun fact, The Weirwood trees in ASOIAF/Game of Thrones are named after him.

It’s still crazy to me to think that he actually won The Masters.

there is a road, no simple highway
between the dawn and the dark of night
and if you go, no one may follow
that path is for your steps alone
