I was at the June 1, 1975 concert at the Assembly Center. Great time. I saw them a few times after that, but nothing compares.
If you were there (like me)..you know what his means! Star Star...

Along with all anticipated excitement surrounding the concerts, something ‘unexpected’ popped out of the floor of the stage, which turned out to be banned from future concerts during that tour.....
there's a pic of that dick in the 1976 Gumbo, the Stones opened up two US tours at the Assembly center in the 70s

The dude stands next to Joe, plays all of Joe's guitar parts along with him. Joe's volume is turned down. Then they let Joe jam out on some songs they are confident he can play.

I guess The Stones will stop rolling.

Adding a guitarist to the lineup isn't lame at all.
Adding a guitarist so that Keith Richards or Joe Walsh can stand there pretending to play while their amp is turned down is lame. Maybe you pay top dollar for covet bands but I don’t.

Yes, I saw him about a year ago opening up for the Eagles before their Sphere run started. Great show.
He did cancel some later gigs for health reasons, so it comes for them all eventually.

was at that show, we drove down from Memphis. They announced the crowd at 96,500. We were on the floor and I thought, "I'll never get another chance..." so I (literally) fought my way to the stage. I made it to the front, and the band was like 8-10 feet away.
Very cool, dude. We had seats in the lower bowl but made our way down to the floor. Didn’t get as close as you. Definitely up there on my list of favorite concerts.

It was wild. After being crushed for a few minutes I had to get out of there, and by the time I got back to my friends my shirt was ripped up, buttons were missing... But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
It just occurred to me that there was no security in front of the stage (probably because it was raised so high, maybe 6 or 7 feet). It wouldn't have been that hard to get up there. Tickets were like $25. Oh, the old days...

i saw them at the Dome in 1983, which everyone just knew it was their farewell tour.

Don’t know how his playing could be worse to be honest.

Just do like the Eagles do for Joe Walsh at the Sphere. Get a younger guitarist as his shadow. The dude stands next to Joe, plays all of Joe's guitar parts along with him. Joe's volume is turned down. Then they let Joe jam out on some songs they are confident he can play.
The other dude is playing Don Felder's solos. Joe still handles his own. And still sings...sorta. Vince Gill plays Glen Frey's solos (easily). But I'm pretty sure most of that show is all backing tracks.

I just saw the remnants of Styx a couple of weeks ago at a casino in Tulsa.
They aren't quite as old as the Stones, but getting there.
The only original members left are JY (James Young) and Tommy Shaw.
JY, who is 76, barely moves, but he can still play his guitar parts.
Tommy Shaw is 73 and moves around the stage like a teenager.

Tommy Shaw is not an original member.
He is one of the youngest looking 70-year-olds you will see. Unlike most of these aging rockers, he's in great shape and has taken care of himself.

If you are looking for musical quality, then going to see some 80-year-olds playing music is not the smartest move.
Many people go to see these classic rock acts for the experience and to be able to see them before they die.
I saw the Eagles at the Sphere, knowing full well that some of the music was tracked and that Joe Walsh was a shell of his former self. I didn't care. Had a great time and thought the show was awesome.

Ooof, yeah, my bad. I knew that.
They mentioned during the show that this month marks the 50th anniversary of the of him joining the band.

He's original to their classic lineup, like Steve Perry to Journey and Stevie Nicks to Fleetwood Mac.
He's just not technically original.

I know people have been saying that for decades, but with Keith about to turn 83 and having arthritis, I dont expect them to go on a big tour again.
They should just prop him up on stage like they do Frankie Valli.
