Good luck! I have a wedding band that was almost 3K and the best offer I received was $350

Why does a lizard ho deserve Tiffany’s in the first place?

No matter where you sell it you'll get about 1/10th what you paid for it. And that's being optimistic.
Which makes diamonds a total scam. frick the diamond company that started the whole "diamonds are a girl's best friend".

Who in the hell wants a used engagement ring that’s not a family heirloom? Especially from a failed relationship? Tell her to keep it.
Ever heard of keeping a secret?

I know a guy who tried to keep it a secret from his fiance that the ring he bought her wasn't real diamonds. She was so excited and didn't even question it was fake. The first time she showed her girlfriends they told her it was fake. She told them he would never do they. She didn't want to get it tested, but they somehow got her to the mall and she got it tested. It was fake. The relation ended soon after.
My point is.. as dumb as it is to buy diamonds, you will always have that secret hanging over your head and they seem to always find out shite like that when it comes to jewelry. At least don't tell her where you bought it from because you never know when she might get some wild idea to try to figure out if you really bought it from there, etc.

Yes, they begin to stop once you put the ring on; but I'm pretty sure they do not start back up when you take the ring back.

WORTHY.com and it isn't even close. I tried for over a year to sell one locally and I know the owners of a LA based jewelry chain. We roomed together in college. They tried to sell it, they referred me to people they know, etc.
I still got several thousand more from Worthy than the best offer I got locally.
FWIW, this was a really nice name brand setting with a really nice large stone. And, before the comments, I wasn't the sucker that paid for this rock. It was an inheritance deal with zero sentimental value. I just wanted the cash.

He should consider himself lucky.

Hope it doesn't have an inscription. My BIL's dad found out the hard way when he proposed.

Seriously, can you give some details on the ring?
Color
Cut
Weight of stone
Etc.

I’m not sure how common it is, but there might be reseller sites for baws looking to buy. Might be worth your effort for a Tiffany ring, versus a pawn shop or the like.

Worked with a beautiful girl (Ole Miss grad) in my first chemist job out of grad school (Baxter, in Cleveland, MS) who wore what looked like a matched set of diamond stud earrings. They were brilliant stones, maybe 3 carat size. She always said they came from two engagement rings she received and then separated before marriage, keeping the rings after dropping the guys. She eventually found a Cotton Farmer guy she decided was good enough to keep, scored a diamond engagement ring, bigger than the first two, and got married. I left for another plant in Chicago and never knew if he was a keeper or if she learned you could also keep a ring after divorce.
Many years later, I worked for a close to 60 year old guy (Owner of a private company) who divorced his wife to marry the 28 year old company receptionist, recently promoted to VP of International Marketing. Not too long after his divorce, he and the girl (a striking beauty from Ireland with a movie star Irish accent - we called her Polly Purebread) went on a business trip to Denmark and she came back with a 6 carat diamond engagement ring. Those of us who were way below her level in the company immediately said she would need wrist surgery eventually from the strain of holding it on her hand. Her company car was a flaming red Porshe Turbo Carrera. I don't think divorce ever occurred. I think she wore him out and got the company when he died.
