Petty wife in this case. I mean welcome to motherhood.
You dealing with petty wife who wants to make a point. Welcome to being married to a woman, now mop that shite up and buy her some flowers. You fricked up, again.

You think she doesn’t know what her expectations and responsibilities are? She knows she should have cleaned the shite up. She was mentally done in that moment. That happens when you are home with kids all day messing things up while you try to put things back together and keep them entertained. She probably had little adult interaction all day. It’s draining.
You can be “right” and give her some lecture about expectations and responsibilities that she already knows. OR, you can have empathy, give her grace and have a happy marriage. Part of your expectations and responsibility is to support her emotional well being.
If OP decides not to work anymore, is the rest of the family expected to do without to "support his mental well being."

LSUGrl - I'm going to need a definition for "support her emotional well being" because this sounds like some total bullshite.

Doing shite like this and not communicating is why things become so hard on both sides.
Everyone is forgetting that OP said he got home 15 minutes after the phone call. Not like the shite was sitting there for hours.
And I'm not buying his side of the story. He was an arse to his wife on the phone and continued it when he got home. Not that hard, on the phone, to say, just take care of the kid, I'll be home soon and clean up the mess. When you got a shite covered, screaming kid, you are not worried about the floor
It's simply being a decent spouse.

Is she going to proofread the RFP he responded to at work?

A quick bath and re-dressing the kid is ten minutes. What you're advocating is laziness. It's not about being a "decent spouse," it's about being accountable for what happens on your watch, pure and simple.

I wouldn’t want my wife to sit on the couch while there was shite on the floor.
No sir, that would bother me.

bullshite.
And please don’t do the happy wife happy life shite. If you must be placated to be happy, please stay a long way away from me

There may be no monetary income from a stay at home parent, but daycare is expensive and the viruses your kid will routinely come home with will have the whole family scrambling for the commode can keep you out of work for days. Congrats on avoiding both

how in the blue frick are you determining that? seems like you are literally constructing a narrative out of thin air to support the wife's side in this case.

I’m so glad I didn’t marry a woman like this. Marriage wouldn’t have lasted a week
