I started this thread because I was hoping to get some advice the night before I was going to leave on if I should stay or not.
I updated this thread because there are actually decent people on here that are concerned for my family. I'm not staying on this thread for myself at this point. I have been on TD long enough to know that it is full of morons. If you just want to throw insults, keep in mind that you are the one that actually looks like an idiot. If anyone else wants to throw pointless insults at me, I can stop posting anytime. I would appreciate if you guys keep shitty opinions to yourself. I really don't need to hear them at this point.

I know how TD is, but right now my frame of mind is not good. I just can't imagine taking shots at someone and his wife when they are going through this.

I get this thought, but it’s also kind of hard to fault OP when you have the Ukrainian president basically saying the west were just hyping everything up despite the moves Russia was making. He’s hardly the only one that probably didn’t think it would come to this judging by the clusterfrick on the highways out of the cities.

Probably. I'm fairly certain Russian soldiers will detain me if I go there and would have detained me if I stayed. If I stayed they would have also questioned my wife and perhaps her family. I have no idea how I would be treated while being questioned or my my wife for that matter. The only positive is, if I go in now, I won't get to my family without their permission. I also won't look like an American spy trying to enter. I will still be detained and either they will let me go to my family or they will send me back. At least they won't be questioning my wife. That is assuming I can even get to the road blocks. I can't walk there from Poland.

Even now that the invasion has started, my wife still doesn't want to leave. I'm much more concerned than her.
I met my wife for the first time in Kiev, Dec, 2013. Two weeks later the revolt started in Ukraine. I went back in Jan. of 2014 and they were killing people in Kiev. After I left Kiev, I flew into Donetsk. That airport was bombed shortly after I left. Once I returned to the states, I could hear the bombs when I skyped her. Ukrainians are not as freaked about this as we are. I think the Ukrainians that should most be worried are in Kiev. They will fight back in Kiev and I don't think it will be pretty.

I met my wife from Match.com. Her Aunt lives in Miami and ran her profile for her. My wife never dreamed of leaving Ukraine, but things have worked out between us.

Looks like Denial isnt only a river in Egypt…. It apparently flows thru Ukraine as well .
