BATON ROUGE - A man was shot inside an Essen Lane apartment after fighting with another person early Sunday.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputies said two men were arguing inside an apartment at Cobblestone Apartments in the 5400 block of Essen when one of the men took out a gun and shot the other man.

Apparently there was a shooting on Essen Ln too.

Used to live at Bluebonnet/Airline area - bailed out about 5 years ago and do not regret it. I don't think I could ever live/work in that town again after all of the escalating crime problems that the local government couldn't be bothered with.

Yeah, not sure why they didn't include that detail but rather say it's the "7100 block of Siegen".

Wonder what Total Wine thinks about that location now. There’s a line in a sublime song that comes to mind here.

I'd consider Cobblestone Apartments to be pretty decent too.

This is every medium to large city in America. Lexington has someone shot virtually every night of the week now.

Maybe so, but I felt way safer at night in Lexington when there for the LSU game than I do in Baton Rouge. In fact, didn’t see a soul wandering around in what I would have taken for unsafe areas.

not sure why they should care. it’s not like the fight was over a wine selection nor do i see it being a target for crime.

Why do the people from NBR love to go down to Siegan to race their cars and do this shite?

I'm not sure. Seems like you could really race down Choctaw without too much trouble at 1am.

Hood rats get together and do donuts in that parking lot behind race track and in front of total win. Nothing good happens after midnight!

I think we are missing an obvious business opportunity here. We need to open a Discount Tire in NBR. Surely these people are going through them every 10k miles

Same thing could be said about Quarters on Sherwood and Coursey. Apparently now, the Chargers and Mustang crowd is gathering in the parking lot adjacent to the Buffalo Wild Wings on Bluebonnet.

Guaranteed they’ll be a deadly shooting at both locations soon.

Yeah, I was about to stand up for this place. Then, I remembered I probably haven't eaten there since the mid-1990s. Back in the day that place was the tits.

I wasn't serious when I said that... But you are right. I have gone there 3 or 4 times and each time it was busy. We went on a Saturday night one time and had to wait for a pod.

I would like to know who they buy their balls from and how often they have to buy balls.

The seedy hotels on Reiger Rd are another major issue. The Motel 6 and Waffle House attract all the rats.

The Holiday Inn had a nice lounge back when that area wasn't a shithole.
