I’ve been wearing a watch so many years I feel naked without it.

I mean, in this era of extreme convenience, a watch is much more convenient at telling time than your phone.

Especially if you have shite in your hands or are sitting down and your phones is in your pocket.

Maybe not all of us have our phones glued to our hands or in front of us 24/7.

I nice watch looks good to wear

And it’s still easier to glance at a watch than pull a phone out of your pocket

Only in the south is a scarf just a fashion piece

with patience and kindness I tried to reason with him that many people wear watches simply as an article of clothing, or a fashion piece, much like the iconic scarf. It didn’t take.

What kind of moron can’t accept the primary and obvious reason that the time is on your wrist?

I’ve never worn watches myself, but for some reason it fails to anger me when others do. Wild times.

I’ve worn them off and on. I would never spend a ton on them, but I would really question the intelligence of someone that’s vehemently against others wearing them and would limit my interactions with them.

You would be mortified if you knew how many people these days cannot interpret/tell time from an “analog” watch. They don’t have a clue.

I didn't wear a watch for about 10 yrs. Then a few yrs ago I got a low level Garmin watch to track stuff. I have 2 now and wear them about half the time. I really like them to download music or podcast to as the sync with my earbuds. Easier mowing grass not having to worry about a phone.

Not even joking…..”what’s the point? Why wear a watch in 2025?!?! Everyone uses their phones to tell time now! It’s idiotic!!!!”…..

He obviously posts here. He’s likely one of the whiners who complain about everything from cruises to sandy beaches to Disneyworld.

I sold my Apple Watch, because I don't want to stay connected all the time. I am now using my 15-year-old Tag watch, and I genuinely use it to know what time it is.

As you can imagine based on my first statement, I don't always carry my phone with me every second of the day either, or I have it in my pocket and don't look at it constantly, so it serves me well.

Quite simply, those of us who wear watches do so because we are not tied to our smartphones like slaves. We can exist for a priod of time without having to refer to our phones for time, texting, emails, or anything else. It's called living.

Might tell her there's still fully grown men who don't need to be tethered to a phone.

But their wife's appreciate having them make supper on time.

And watch her cringe!

I bet your co-worker would be infuriated on this site then. There is a "watch" thread on this board multiple times a week.

There are those amongst us who feel the same about people staring at electronic devices.

I wear one to control my hearing aid.

I also work with my hands. I can see who is calling and if I need to stop and answer.
