Let the people who love in the neighborhoods decide. I live in Southdowns I’m not fricking relearning all the new streets. When my street gets renamed that’s one more reason to get out of this shithole.

So a whole section of Gardere is named after confederate generals?
Thats the kind of shite that is like a slap in the face to the people who live in that area.....

I bet all the good folks living on those streets were shocked and that they really felt oppressed when they woke up one morning and all the street names had been changed to those of Confederate generals.

It's all so ridiculous. We could probably trace back half of the names of the streets/buildings etc to some sort of confederate boogeyman.
Hell, my family has some ties to slavery in Mississippi. Should I change my last name?

Well, she's the president of the parish, so...
Would street names fall under parish authority or City of St. George authority?

Unless it is exclusively a parish road - city.

Does this mean that we can get rid of the Washington Street exit on I-10?

Just remember that if the fine city of Central had bothered to vote, we would be dealing with a White as mayor. Bodie White.
4000 freaking votes gave us this racist idiot instead.

Gardere wasn't always low income minority residents. It's not like the city decided to build a hood and name it all after Confederates

Hey Mr. Watson, this would be a great time to add this to your platform. Oppose all of this.

We should have more stuff named after Richard Leche and Edwin Edwards.
