What's so good about nicotine. Does it give you as good of a feeling as being buzzed from alcohol?

It’s chemistry. No fret. The molecules and your brain are in charge. Tame your part of deal - behavior. But it not personal.

It's like any other drug. First time makes you feel sick, the next bunch of times it makes you feel good, after a while there's little effect... and then you need it to just feel normal. Hell of a thing.

There are some small benefits from nicotine. It can help with small nervous system problems. Some folks say it enhances. It's a appetite suppressant, which is why so many people gain weight when they quit.

I have dipped Skoal mint since I was 16(I’m 35).

The entire time I have contended I could quit anytime I wanted to and easily beat whatever addiction I had created for myself(seriously).

I’m recently single after ~9 years and figured if we’re shaking things up, let’s stop using tobacco.

Bought a can of Zyns to experience the hype and in case I wanted a dip during the typical moments when I want one.

Zyns are gross I threw them out and have quite cold turkey with literally not a single issue. It’s been 4 months now.

What is wrong with people? The lack of self discipline out there is shocking.

I can't speak for anything else, but its very possible to get to a point where you aren't ever tempted by cigarettes again even after smoking for years.

After I quit… back in the olden days. I’d occasionally like to sit in the smoking section to remind me of how vile it really was. Because those cigarettes after a meal had always been so damn good. But we’re now simply nasty. Like how a sugar laden coke (or coffee) is repulsive after giving up all sugary drinks.

But like a drunk with a drink, just one cigarette is too many, and that’s experience from several other regrets. …..This time since Clinton.

The addiction is physical; i.e. the coke bottle you hide in the cabinet.

I feel you. I haven’t had a drink in many years but I can feel it when I see someone else do a shot from time to time. It’s very strange and very real.
