Find an active hobby that will have a local group dedicated to it that has meet-ups. Mountain biking, kayaking, etc. Idle hands are the Devil's workshop, so keep your free time occupied with something that's both productive AND social.

Things to do to help a broken heart

Have posted this before on here, but my first wife left me after 4 years of marriage and my paying off her student loans for nursing. Came home after work one day and found a note on the door, and went inside to a mostly empty house, and as I found out later, empty bank account.

Turns out she had been seeing an old boyfriend.

I was beyond devastated, didn't see it coming. I went from 168 pounds to 118 in 2 months time.

Now, this is where I will get downvoted, but I was a Christian, and sought out Christian friends to help me through it. Was reminded through that process that God loves me deeply, and that He wants what is best for me.
That helped me tremendously, began to stop focusing on what had happened to me, and started focusing on what could happen if I started to focus in new opportunities.

It took a while, but that helped me. If you have good friends who give you good advice, spend time with them and try to focus your free time on positive things and not negative thoughts.

not going to dv you for that, what's wrong with the way you dealt with it? what I want to know is that how you can have absolutely no clue that anything was going on and that she was this type of a gold digging countess?

For cod's hake! Don't you know never fish off the company pier?!

You reely scrod-upped, clownfish.

A caviar attitude toward offish roemances can spawn a brillion problems! One minute the reelationship is going swimmingly, next thing you know it takes a dive and all goes to crappie, then you've really got a fine kettle of fish!

Currently I'm drinking like a fish

I know you feel gutted, and have taken a real battering, but it doesn't get any betta drinking till your green at the gills. It might be benefishial to goby alone for awhile, maybe a nice, quiet plaice by the sea, and take the opportunaty to do some sole-searching, find your porpoise, perch yourself up, waterever you want. Try not to mullet over too much, though--get trout there again and carp diem!

But next time your angling for a gillfriend, drop a line off a different pier!

We worked different shifts. I worked days and she worked nights, so I wasn't home when things were happening I guess.

Man, if Al Green doesn’t know to mend a broken heart, what makes you think anyone on here does?

It just sucks. That’s all I got.

Use the pain. Bury it, make it become a slow burning rage that motivates everything you do.
