I will buy a truck if I need one. I have 3 of the right now but I don't sell or trade them in. As a matter of fact, I don't sell anything. I buy it and use it until it has totally given up the ghost.
If I have taken care of it, I know that equipment and it is worth more to me than what someone will give me for it.

There is a way to make vehicles cheaper. No automatic windows, no leather seats, no Bose 8 speaker audio system, etc… Would you buy one?
Scruffy has wanted a pre-electronics vehicle for a while now.

Yes, as long as it has A/C and a stereo. I come from the mindset of it is a truck and will be used like a truck. Keep all the fancy stuff for the soccer moms in the Tahoe. Yes it is nice to ride in a fancy truck, but screw these asking prices.

Use either headphones or a portable Bluetooth speaker and roll down the windows.
Engine runs fine.

an acura dealership in dallas had 40 TLX on their lot.
I emailed them to get pricing, they legit told me "oh because of production shortages, we can't discount it anymore unless you come in".
okay, sounds like that TLX on the lot for 168 days will stay there, frick off.

But we shouldn’t have focused on revamping American raw material and base supply manufacturing nor should we try to invest in Mexico. Nope, we should rely on and invest in China and SE Asia.
Trump was 100% right on this.
This administration reversed course. It’s intentional.

buddy with the supply chain problems we're facing and the debasement of our sovereign currency, and with general market trends and sentiment: fat fricking chance

Do you even understand the premise of the article? It's not that DEMAND is low because the cost of automobiles is too high. It's that SUPPLY is low because most of the developed world thought it was a brilliant idea to significantly limit, if not outright shut down the production of materials needed to build the vehicles in a singular focus to eradicate a virus that on a grand scale is relatively harmless. And they did so without ANY regard as to massive butterfly effect such actions would create.
Automakers had zero issues with demand prior to 2020. Even with ever rising prices. So why would they choose to take less of a profit if the market clearly showed it was willing to pay the price of the vehicle? Even today, the demand for vehicles remains high.
Your anger is wholly misguided. The market is willing to pay the cost at which the automakers are selling the vehicles. The problem is that the automakers have FAR fewer vehicles available to sell. If you want to blame someone, blame the idiots in charge who thought/think the idea that shutting down the world to "fight covid" exists in a vacuum and that no negative repercussions would arise from such a wholly misguided position

People are paying 10-20k over sticker price currently for many models. Not a chance in hell I’d ever do that. I’ll keep my paid off car as long as possible.
The new and used markets aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. When people are allowed to finance for 72-84 months, the cost will remain high af. The used market skyrocket during covid

not taking up for lawmakers....but the OTs obsession with this is retarded.
Look for the 100th time...if you can finance a vehicle for under 2% interest and you dont...you are stupid as shite with money.
if they offer you 3 years at 1.5 or 10 at 1.9....you are stupid as frick not to take the 10 year plan.
ya'lls redneck asses need to turn off dave ramsey and actually learn how money and interest works.

Don’t be a moron. Got rid of my ride of 1.5 years for $9k more than I paid. The used market is hot AF.
Then you need to put in hours of work to find a better newer vehicle. Be patient if you have another vehicle to use…
