Okay, true story incoming.

I ate some bad pussy when I was 25.

100% true God strike me dead if I'm lying.

But she was drop dead gorgeous, green eyes, black hair, perfect arse, C cups with nipples like erasers.

Anyways, I fought that infection for three months. Finally I went in and got some antibiotics and still .... referred to the malofaciologiolly whatever doctors and they put me on a super antibiotic and scheduled surgery.

Two weeks later ... bam, snipped'em out. Told me they were still infected when they dropped them in the jar.

I survived.

I'd been through worse.

The poon did not smell bad.

Moral of the story is .... do not chow on bad poon. Stab it with the peen, but no chowing.

Got mine out at 46 2+ years ago. It was painful but manageable. Ate a bunch of applesauce, instant mash potatoes. Swallowing will completely suck for a while. Make sure your ENT gives you quite a bit of the lidocaine lolly pops from a compounding pharmacy. Those were what made the biggest difference for me.

Got mine at 15. Next day I ate a cheeseburger. I do know someone in their 30s who bled to death at night in his sleep. Just make sure someone is with you. He was alone. You will feel much better. Good luck

Strep can be very bad. I used to work with a woman whose kidneys were lost due to strep. She died after second kidney transplant. I'd rather have a tonsillectomy.

Had a 22 year old relative that had hers out within 8 months of brain surgery. Said the tonsils surgery was by-far the worst. Also, keep drinking fluids, you bleed quite a bit it the scab comes off.

My brother had his removed in his 30s, went home and started bleeding and ended up in ICU. He told me he waited way too long before contacting his doctor.

If you start to bleed do not wait , contact doctor.

started bleeding

I spoke with the NP about this specifically over the phone. She said while yes that is a serious issue she has only had it happen twice in her 12 years in ENT. Also said that it typically happens around day 7, because people start feeling better and doing to much and will pop a stitch or scab.

Seems pretty low risk if you follow instructions

ETA: they also keep you in recovery for 4-6 hours to monitor for that after the procedure.

I had my tonsils, adenoids, and uvula removed as well as having rhinoplasty so I could actually breath out of my nose. All done at once. Recovery really wasn't that bad. Lot's of liquids, popsicles, etc. Worst part was getting extremely constipated. Take stool softeners and whatever else you can to not get locked up down low.

Also plan to sleep in a recliner or siting upright for awhile.

hemorrhoidectomy

Have a funny story about one of these. After my wife had our first baby she had some banding done to get rid of her rhoids. After a follow up with her gyno we are sitting there and he begins to tell us a story about a hemorrhoidecotmy. Said one of the older docs in his group was the specialist on these. Well one of his patients came in (she had just had a baby and had one done) complaining to my wife's doc about pain. He said he took a look at it and called the old doc while on vacation. Old doc answers the phone and asked if it looked like an old chewed up dog toy??...wife's doc says....yes it does. He says good its healing up nicely. Wife looked at me and said she is never getting one of those.

I had mine out when I was 36. I had a bad case of tonsilitis when I was 18, but I was about a week out from starting college, so I just fought through it and figured I could get them taken out over Christmas break. In the 3-4 months until Christmas, they never bothered me again, so we didn't bother with it. Maybe 15 years later, I started getting tonsil stones. One of the nastiest things that can happen. I never really got the bad swollen tonsils again or infections, but had started snoring. Did a sleep study and I had moderate apnea. The ENT suggested a CPAP, but I hated that. Then he said we could do surgery, called the UP3, and we could also take care of the tonsils at the same time. First week of recovery was rough. I had stitches in the back of my throat, the pain was too bad to eat solid foods, and I survived on frozen smoothies. I'd get a large, like 30 oz smoothie and put it in the freezer, then take it out and shave off bites with a spoon and just hold that in my mouth to numb the pain. But after that, I was sleeping so much better and never have to really deal with strep or tonsil issues anymore.

I was in the same boat as you. Always had strep and a sore throat. Got mine out at 37 and DR said mine were absolutely rotten. Best decision I ever made. It was a tough recovery, but pain meds helped. Plan on being down for at least a week. You won't regret it.

Yes, forgot to mention that in my post. The ENT even said I will lose around 12-15 lbs during recovery, and that for even better results with not snoring, to try and keep that off.

Another thing that made me think of, start taking stool softeners or laxatives on day 1 or 2. The narcotics they give you for pain will stop you up. Even eating very little solid foods, you'll find it is hard to go. When you haven't gone in a week, that can also be very painful.
