It and Vegas are kinda like America's outdoor man cave. You can go there and get drunk, make a mess, piss on the ground, puke, stuff yourself with unhealthy food, see some skanky bitches, and then leave.

This just isn’t true. One of the things I tell first time tourists is “don’t piss in public no matter what.” NOPD takes this as a personal affront and deal with it harshly. I watched two of them whip a frat boys arse on a side street off Bourbon one night while yelling “do I come to your house and piss on the floor?!?”

Ask the 17 million who visited last year

How is this quantified? Anyone know? That's 46,000 "tourists" per day, every day.

I ask because this seems inflated as well

quote:

Last year, 26.7 million people visited Dallas, spending $4.6 billion for a total economic impact of $7.8 billion, generating $558 million in state and local tax revenue, resulting in an offset of household taxes for residents. All that spending translates into jobs, about 60,000 jobs in the city of Dallas is related to the tourism industry.

It's one of the most beautiful and unique cities in the country.

It sucks that this is somewhat offset by shitty LA politics, corruption and massive crime problems with the culcha.

I read this morning that Nola lost another company, Tidewater, to Houston.

Almost 18.8 in Boston. But it doesn’t consider itself a tourist industry.

You wear jorts, walk up and down bourbon drinking hand grenades, and go have a nice meal at Bubba Gumps when you visit I bet.

You probably couldn't name a real restaurant and couldn't find an art shop or antique house if you tried.

Just wondering if, say, someone from Collin county does a transaction in Dallas county if they count that to the number.

Like Mandeville to NOLA proper.

I only go for sports and concerts. We need a new tourist center in LA where people can feel safe. I’ll nominate Lafayette.
