LASIC eye surgery 20 years ago.
I wore glasses/contacts from 16 years old until my 30s when I had it done. I was racing mountain bikes at the time and had more than a few races ruined by grit getting under a contact.
I had the surgery and ended up with 20/20 vision.
Now, in my 50s, I have 20/40 far sight, so still don't need glasses for driving, daily activities.
I do wear 1.50 cheaters for seeing up close, but that's just because I'm getting old

Paying off all my credit cards, cars, and mortgage. Living practically debt free has probably added ten years to my life.

House # 1 - bought it and sold it nearly 5 years later for almost double what I paid for it, which allowed us to buy...
House #2 - Cost three times as much as we paid for house #1. Worth it to be in a great neighborhood full of good people. 22 years later it has also doubled in value.
Boat #1 - Bought it in 2007; in 2020 sold it for the same price I paid for it back in 2007. Definitely put more in it than the original cost over those 13 years, but damn we had a bunch of good times and family memories on that thing.
Boat #2 - replaced Boat #1 with a newer, better boat just at the outbreak of Covid. Could probably get well over 50% more than what I paid for it right now. But the good times out on the water are worth it.

My house. Well the house and the land we built it on which we bought earlier.
Great neighborhood, great neighbors, has been a great place to raise our children.
Definitely was one of the best decisions that we've made.

Veneers. I went from having yellow teeth to perfect teeth. Worth every penny.

Every single time I’ve paid to upgrade to the comfort +, first class, or an exit row, it’s been 100% worth it.

Bought a new Tahoe in 2003. First time I went to change the oil, I stripped the drain plug. Called Tires Plus and they got a quote to remove the drain plug ($20), oil change ($30) and an alignment ($95). Walked in ready to pay $145 and before I could tell them what I wanted, I was told about the “Manager’s Special”. $199 for lifetime oil changes, tire rotations and alignments. I held on to that Tahoe for 14 years and 273,000 miles.

House on the lake. It’s close to our jobs, so we were able to move here full time when we bought it. The house had a big boat house and we already had our pontoon, fishing boat, and ski boat so we were lake ready.
We bought a couple of jet skis last year and they came with a floating drive on dock (jet dock) so now we are set. The kids come home often now which is lagniappe.
The wife and I are close to retirement and we ride jet skis 2-3 times a week from March through October which we never thought we would do when we bought them. I wasn’t sure if she would get on one much less ride one by herself, but she does. Really great one on one time.
