they're full of catholics
I think Catholic schools should only admit practicing Catholics. Let woke Protestants go corrupt their yutes at their own schools

Ages? Are they artsy or sporty?
Catholic, SJA and St. Michael all run around 13k a year. I speak from having two grads from SMHS...their academics are great and if you have a kid that plays sports they will be able to play. My oldest graduated with 18 hours towards her undergrad at LSU and my other daughter was just a normal high school kid. She struggled with school but college is easy for her.
Idk much about Dunham and episcopal other than they are the two most expensive schools in BR. I wouldn't send a dog to Parkview. Mean girls and bitchy moms.

Send them to Episcopal if you want your kid to see other weirdos walking around dressed up as a furry and the admin encouraging it
Huh. I thought Hancock got canned about 20 years ago.

And your kid also becomes a gay communist.

Homeschooling is never a. Better option. I’m sorry, but I’ve known numerous home schooled kids and parents. It is never equivalent to the same level education you get in a private school and that’s not even taking into account the social aspect deficit of home schooled kids
This is complete BS. I was homeschooled from 5th grade - HS graduation. I am very social, earn 6 figures, have an accounting degree and you would never think "Oh, she was homeschooled." Your stereotype of homeschooled kids is prehistoric and shows your lack of intelligence.

I don't think anyone is arguing public is better than homeschooling, but both suck honestly.
I don't think many advocate homeschooling over private.

My kids went to private school for a while - if you want them to do well you have to be involved - my kids were always at the tops of their classes because my husband and I busted our butts as parents
I didn’t like the environment after a while, so I pulled them out and started homeschooling - my oldest graduated summa cum laude in engineering in May

BRCVPA to McKinley Middle to BRMHS. Put that tuition money in a START Saving 529 plan.

bullshite. It usually is.

So have I.

Also bullshite. The single biggest predictor of what a child will learn in school is his or her parents. Controlled for family involvement and stability in the child's education, studies find that there is no significant difference between the education at public schools vs private schools (and the only way they test any of that anyway is by standardized test scores).
Besides, I went to private school. One of those southern ones that was founded to avoid segregation in the late 60s/early 70s. It was no better than the public schools in the area, and in some respects might have been worse. And a whole lot of private schools out there are just like that one.

You might want to get into this century. Home schooling has come a long way since the 80s. There's no "social deficit" involved unless you create one.
And no, my kids were not home schooled. But there are times that I wish they had been. And that's from watching the kids who were home schooled that my kids played with. Who ended up going to Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech. And more importantly, who didn't get indoctrinated with woke garbage, which is something I have to contend with in my kids.
And yeah, private school will generally keep that from happening as well. But homeschooling is so much more efficient. It only takes 3-4 hours a day (in elementary, maybe a little longer in high school) to go through the material they need to go through, not 8. The rest of the time is wasted.
That's a lot of wasted time by the end of it.

Do the parents have degrees in pedagogy? If not, they should be banned from homeskooling. Buncha idiots using religion to avoid having their kids go to school w brown kids. Better off letting them learn to think for themselves than teaching them your prejudices.

Move to Prairieville. Send them to Dutchtown and let your tax dollars work for you. Save the money you would have spent sending them to private school and use it to help them with college or post graduate school.

If you send your children to a regular public school in East Baton Rouge Parish that is child abuse.

Scotlandville High School is top tier send them there, they’ll be well cultured

What’s wrong with moving to a non cesspool and sending them to public school? They have to grow up and live in the real world one day.
