Honestly, I think apple lucked out with the iphone. Much of its usefulness is met by a product that is much more dumbed down. It's just that people love shiny new things, and they've made a fortune repackaging the thing.
The iphone 17 pro is not what people need. They don't even need anything beyond say an 11.
Eventually, humans will merge with technology and be the product that gets annual updates.

Apple screwed up by not innovating. Their iphone is just the same shite every year
Everyone’s phones are the same shite every year. The form and function of smartphones was cemented years ago. Except for stuff like folding screens… which isn't going to catch on in widespread adoption… everyone’s phones will simply have incremental improvements in performance and battery life.
What Jobs was always doing was looking for The Next Big Thing. And that ain't phones.

Just wondering? What more should a cell phone be able to do?
I think it's more about not costing $1000+ for the same shite

Apple is one of the highest valued companies in the world. The frick you talking about?
If Cook hadn’t fricked up they would not only be one of the highest valued, they’d be hands down by a mile the highest valued company on Earth.
You and I as CEOS could have gotten Apple where it is today just on the products alone that already existed.
Yes, I’m saying it. Cook held them back and fricked up big time.

I'd like the charger cables to work on insertion without having to jiggle it, jam it, or jolt it.
I'd like the charger wires to stay inserted and charging even when the phone is jiggled, jammed, or jolted.
I’ve not had any of these issues with USB C.

Apple and Glock are similar. Their fanboys/girls keep buying the same damn thing....over and over.

Tim Cook is an operator, not an innovator. Jobs was the innovator, Cook was picked to keep a steady course and make the stock price predictable for Wall St

I've been hearing this since 2012. Apple has 85% market share with Gen Z. Apple is going nowhere.
BlackBerry much?

It’s apples job to tell us what we are missing out on. But I did just upgrade from iPhone 14 to 17 and I did not notice a difference. They have jumped the shark on the iPhone. I think I read they are basically living off of AirPod sales these days.
Yeah, i see no reason to upgrade from my 14

Apple has been sitting on their hands for years. No true innovation. Negligent management on the AI front and more concerned with stock price and equity vs innovation and future growth… VR tech is part of the future and the boggled it by out pricing the market and didn’t even bother building the world it needs to live in with entertainment partnerships. Steve Jobs would cut his balls off off if he was still around.

Tim Cook has been the CEO over 10 years and has grown their stock tremendously. He has been very successful. Complaining about iPhones is like complaining about cars. After 100 years they are still a box on 4 wheels.

Nah uh, sometimes the phone is 11% thinner and the camera takes a slightly brighter picture

Apple horrifically missed the AI boat.
What's worse is that Jobs had the right idea with Siri.
Cook is a good manager and great at creating shareholder value with cost reductions, creating what is probably the gold standard for supply chain of any major US company, management of personnel, etc. But it seems like he always misses the mark on innovation. I think lucked out on the airpods, those seem to be of the few "innovations" brought forth by apple in the last 10 years.
Jobs was the ideas man and it absolutely shows.

I’ve been an iPhone fan for long.
If that new folding they have is good I’ll get it.
If not pixel is next.

I’m not sure what’s funny. Has Apple ever been an internet provider?

I'm not an Apple fanboy, but the idea that they've never been innovative is simple ignorance.
I get the idea they took good ideas and made them better (Jobs vision, Woz engineering).
Apple IIe wasn't the first personal PC, but the competition was 40-column Atari 8-bits and Commodore 64. Altair started it. So because it wasn't your initial idea, that's not innovation?
Someone had to think the Microwave needs a popcorn button.
