Napoleon’s fascinating to me... France was the first nation to completely mobilize for war... Bonaparte took that infrastructure and conquered all of Europe with it (save for Britain). Destroyed the 700 year old Holy Roman Empire along the way.

The contrast is also interesting... spreading republican ideals to the rest of continental Europe and the Napoleonic Code. .. while also being emperor.
