Interesting that you post this.

I drive a Yukon Denali AWD.

Last week, the interstate was shut down and Apple Maps directed me to exit and take a winding road through the mountains and get back on the interstate further down the interstate.

Paved road turned into dirt road with loose gravel and further ahead a LEO had a checkpoint setup. He asked if I had 4WD because there was no way to drive the road ahead without it. Well he wasn’t kidding. Never again will I do that drive. One hour later I completed the drive and was back on the interstate. I felt like I lost a couple of years off my life from the stress. The AWD saved me that day.

The amount of soccer moms driving z71 Tahoes and suburbans and elevation expeditions to drop off Jayxton at preschool around me is absurd.

I remember my mom got a car when I was around 14 due to gas being over 3 dollars. She hit a raccoon and it did 3k worth of damage. Traded it in for a suburban immediately. She did it because the suburban made her feel more safe and felt her kids would be safer in the event of a wreck.

I never see dirt on any ‘off road’ package vehicles in my area (TRD Pro, Z-71, Raptor, take your pic).

My AT4X I got last year is pretty badass and you’re right. It will likely never see a dirt road. The Denali looked like an old man truck to me so I got the AT4X. It is what it is:

All the overland bullshite strapped to the sides and roof are a little much for flat arse Louisiana. Maybe it would be better on a rig in the mountains.

One needs at least a mid-travel rig to safely traverse La 3132.

Same reason soccer moms insist on Tahoes instead of the minivan they really need.

I have driven Jeeps all my life. All have been 4x4. My last 2 have been wranglers.

I bought a wrangler because i wanted a convertible and not a car. Mine is mostly a mall crawler. It nice though when i need 4x4.

I have the Sahara Package i did not need the Rubicon

I do find it interesting that most of the Rubicons I see on the road are driven by women who have no clue what it can do.

Jeep has been the official Texas state car for 16 year old girls for decades although the Bronco is cutting into the market lately

Its a style that is appealing to current buyers and being that its off road ready you can be prepared for everything!
