Depends on the situation, I know I curse but I don't use it in regular conversation unless it's with my friends or wife. I don't curse around kids, don't do it at work (this day and age I don't need a call from HR) and don't around women, except my wife.

I think people who curse excessively are uneducated in how to speak.

Probably the same people that are triggered by everything. At some point they should probably realize the problem is them, not others. Never will though.

I tell my kids that they can only control themselves. Don’t worry about what other people say. Words can’t hurt you.

people love to get they bloody panties in a wad. Who gives a frick if someone wants to god damn cuss? People act like cussing is some bad words but you can say a lot more hurtful things with regular words than you ever could with some kuss words.

What’s really amusing is the fact that curse words are just sounds coming out of the mouth just like any other word. Society has just collectively agreed that it’s a “curse” word and attached an emotional charge to it. It’s just a social construct just like everything else society has agreed to.

Better question is,” why aren’t they?”
If you were raised in an environment where cursing is so common, you don’t think anything of it, you were raised wrong.

I never understood why poop is ok but shite is not, or certain slang for body parts such as wiener or ding dong are ok but others aren’t.

What’s funny is that curse words are not really bad words. They’re historically created to be used for emphasis. So if they’re overused by someone they look uneducated as the words lose their intent and meaning.

Society started to understand them as so called “bad words” because they were not used unless something bad or extreme happened.

That’s your English IV lesson of the day from Mrs. Sylvest. You’re welcome.
I used that excuse after cursing in front of my mom but she still pop me

I can’t remember who said this, but most people “speak in words and think in pictures”.

Imagine that instead of the stream of curse words…the video was just pictures illustrating whatever was being said. Like, the literal meaning of every word (expletives included) was shown visually.

This is why we call them obscenities.

Cursing sounds trashy. You needed someone to explain that to you?

It probably has something to do with their upbringing or religious sensibilities. It has always been like this. George Washington for example was NOTORIOUS for becoming offended when he heard foul language. No one was allowed to swear in his presence and he would go off on them when someone slipped up.

Because some people build barriers in their lives of things that do not edify them and are in opposition to their personal ethics. 99% of the time people can control what comes over that barrier into their world.

Unfortunately, due to the spontaneous nature of language cursing is not one of the things people can shield themselves from.

So the “trigger” comes from the perceived inability to control a subjectively important aspect of one’s own life.

Because jts trashy in the wrong setting, and people don't understand that anymore. It's a daily reminder of how our society decorum is just going down the crapper.

Not worrying about it is just another sign of the fracturing of societal norms. It's part of why we can't have nice things anymore.

Doesn't "trigger me", but I try to avoid using it. Just shows a sign of lack of class and education.

Definitely wrong if around women or children. And that's if you're a male or female. Females cussing looks particularly trashy.
