I don't wear one out causally, but for hunting and working outside they are great. Allow me to layer my core without restricting arm movement. I may look like a tool but I'll be comfortable.

It leaves my arms more mobile, and then the weather gets above 50 degrees, but not warm enough to wear just a fishing shirt it works well with cargo shorts.

The only vests I own are camo ones for hunting. On cool days I keep my core warm but I can still easily draw my bow.

I'm almost 41 so I don't know if that makes me middle aged but I don't own any vests.

Patagonia makes a tight one.

Also when it's not that cold out but a regular long sleeve wont do it.

Ive got a couple of fleece vests. Can't stand anything on my lower arms, always roll my sleeves.
