I'll wait on your forced explanation of how my grandfather or great grandfather are the primary influence of my spending habits or other decisions.

Bad genetics combined with shitty parenting is a recipe for a shitty life.
apparently this is a controversial thought around here

I need to know what are you arguing against before we go further
are you arguing
a) genetics plays no part in intelligence/IQ
or
b) intelligence/IQ plays no part in our life choices
thanks

Poor people are poor typically because they are stupid.

People from every socioeconomic class smoke, drink, and do drugs. What type of stupid question is this shite?

And why are they stupid?
Genetics.
Genetics.

Let's not ignore how much environment plays a role as well
I'm a believer that our IQ is mostly genetic, but our environment in which we were raised is what allows us to fully access our IQ or not

I'm more convinced that nature outweighs nurture growing up with fraternal twins for sisters.
One is the image if my our paternal side and the other the image the maternal. Not just looks but life choices. Simple things as fashion, music, colors, social skills, desires and goals.
It really is shocking.

You can be intelligent and self-destructive.

If you are truly interested in this subject moreso than just spouting off your preconceived notions, check out On Media
's 5-part podcast on poverty. It's a deep dive into the mindset of people who make these types of decisions from their own points of views as well as those of academics. It's a great listen.

I'm interested, but I still think most poor people are that way because they are stupid. Not necessarily unintelligent, because I believe intelligence is mostly genetic and as long as you have the ability to learn you can be successful. But, rather their minds have been shaped by their environment, and they are prone to instant gratification, rather than thinking long term.

Success is subjective and relative.

In this context I'm obviously defining success by not being a fricking poor.

Still applies.
You are still passing that judgement on personal beliefs that being poor means not successful.

Okay, if you're going to be dense maybe I should have said, "as long as you have the ability to learn you shouldn't be a fricking poor."
Is that better?
