Our 2016 has the shitty Pentastar V6 made by Chrysler
That’s not a Sprinter. DaimlerChrysler - the company that eventually became today’s Mercedes-Benz Group - sold off Chrysler in 2007. They only made Dodge Sprinters (which, again, were Mercedes Benz Sprinters with Dodge badging) from 2003-2009.
If you have a 2016, I assume it’s a ProMaster which is a completely different vehicle designed by Fiat/Stellantis.

Ford company who does nothing but steal others designs
The Ford Transit is the dominant sales leader in the North American full-size commercial van market, with a market share often exceeding that of all competitors combined. This leadership position has been maintained for over a decade and is supported by a full product lineup, continuous sales growth, and a strong focus on commercial customers.
Market position and sales dominance
Leading market share: In the first quarter of 2024, the Ford Transit captured a commanding 60% market share in the U.S. full-size van segment, significantly increasing its dominance year-over-year. This strong performance continued through the second and fourth quarters of 2024, with the Transit holding 49% and 39% of the market respectively.

You are correct. I may had misunderstood you or confused myself. Our previous van was the Sprinter with the MB diesel. Our current van is the Promaster with the Pentastar

They're pretty different when you look under the hood. I'm trying to talk the wife into getting a class B mercedes sprinter to cruise around the country with our cat and do cool shite.

They aren't the same. Not even similar.
The mercedes Sprinter was the first euro fleet van. But the chevy express has been around 25 years and is solid. But go back to Mercedes the Sprinter and the Metris are totally different. Then I'm other countries you have the V250D and other vans. Ford had the connect which was illegally imported from Spain as passenger vehicles then converted to work vans. They had to stop. But they still sell the foreign built transit. Nissan had two van that were very different.
Really to say they are all even similar is to admit lack of knowledge on cars. They are all vans. But some are rwd V8 and many are fwd 4cyl. Someone said Toyota didn't make a van. No. Toyota makes the best full size van, the Hiace. We just have stupid inport laws in this country. No toyota vans. No mann vans. No Fiat or Peugot or all the other work vans you may see while traveling.
VW even has 5 different vans. Toyota has multiple. Yet we only get the minivan.
But the Sprinter itself was made first by Internatonal then dodge and mercedes built them. Those are the only "Sprinter" vans.

Your entire post was stupid and uninformed. At least you realize that.

How many different ways can you shape a box and paint it the most popular color for fleet vehicles? It’s not like there’s much innovation that can be done to a van. Before the sprinters/promasters/transits, if you wanted taller interior space, you had to mount a box to a cab and chassis truck frame. A taller van serves that same function in a more fuel efficient package.

There are 25 million illegal immigrants in this country. Illegals have a high propensity to be human traffickers.

Businesses demand them and are buying those Sprinters.
Why would vehicle manufacturers not supply what is in demand and being purchased?
