I’ve always taken off my shoes...

And made sure I took a big dump just before...Old wrestling thing I guess.

Yep.. had to go to Urgent Care this week, and the second-worst part was being surrounded by Covid patients hacking up a lung… But the worst part was getting on a scale for the first time in over two years.. Was definitely a wake up call; but when they weighed me i had on a heavy winter jacket, heavy boots, had my cellphone and my work cellphone (#humblebrag) in my pockets, as well as some other stuff… so after my appt, on the way out, i snuck back into the room with the scale, took all that shite off and i weighed 7 lbs less.. made me feel a little less like a lazy fatass, i guess .

16 pounds. And on the wall in their exam room is was a printed paper sign that suggested you ask them about their "Weight loss shots". What the hell?
They leave it on and have old and obese people slipping on and off all day. The nurse needs to re-zero the scale periodically

Maybe they'll figure it out before the next time I go and I will look good having lost 16+ pounds.

Because the shoes are on the ground already so they don't contribute to the weight.

If clothes make that much difference between the weight saying you’re obese or not, then you’re fat and need to shed some lbs

I felt like the doctor scale was a little juiced too. Even with all my clothes on it was 5 pounds heavier than the home test I just did.

Weight change can be an indicator of onset of many medical conditions. They are tracking weight change and there is a negligible difference in the weight of your attire each time. The hospital bed scales are adjusted for the "stuff" on the bed and they SHOULD take any extra pillows, blankets, etc off the bed when they use it but I only have seen it done with the most fragile that they are really tracking weight on.

Let’s use our brains. Is 6 a bigger percentage of a high number or a low number. 6 pounds makes more of a difference if you’re a healthy weight.

Same here. I doubt the average support personnel is going to put that much thought into it, honestly.

The weird thing is OB during pregnancy. They track weight obsessively but don't say anything about it. That's literally what our OB told us. "We're gonna weigh you constantly but we're not gonna talk about it. I don't discuss weight during pregnancy unless there's a very serious problem."

What the hell did you have on that weighed 6 lbs.?

And don't trust your home scale against one in a Drs. office. My home scale always weighs light. Not only for me but for the wife too, and it's always around 5-6 lbs. difference.
