USSSA is a money making racket controlled by a small group. They lock up fields with leases. You have to play in their tournaments or you don’t play.
I kinda get the impression this is the answer. I've had some dealings with teams at Traction and I get the vibe they got the shite locked up here. They're not letting anybody come kill the golden goose.

Former LSU baseball players haven’t figured out how to get a cut of Little League $ yet.

Probably would be more of an AP thing.

How do you think Traction got started?

Not true. There’s OTC and 2D tournaments every weekend.
USSSA is copying off of 2D. 2D has grown across the state the last couple of years.

How so?
We played USSSA for 6 years and only played in a few 2D events the past 2 years.
What I like about 2D is there’s no gate fees, the teams pay the umps directly and there’s no roster limits. There’s pitch count rules and that’s about it. Now this was for 13-14 year olds, not sure how the younger ages were set up. Each team pays one flat entry fee plus you pay the umps.
I like 2D the best.

That hundred dollar handshake means that Brayzxton's strike zone is a little bit tighter so he looks better during plate appearances when the Yankees send their scout to see him.

My Dixie Youth 12U “rec” team that just finished Runner Up at the World Series would kick the shite out of 90% of the travel teams out there.
In fact, we played two USSSA tournaments prior to the start of our District All Star tournament beginning and went undefeated in both.
You and Jaxson can kiss my arse. ??

USSSA is much bigger round these parts. It's also way more fun imo

Your wreck all star team didn’t go undefeated in 2 USSSA tournaments in the Majors division.
You’re going to have to prove it before anyone here will believe you.
Post the link to the brackets and I’ll eat crow.
ETA: if y’all were so good why didn’t you take them to compete in Cooperstown?

Now, from what I've heard, quite a number of the kids on the LA LLWS team do play travel ball.
This is often over looked. Back when I played, Thibideaux Terror had 2 kids on their team that played for LA in the LLWS. This was one of the top 5 USSSA teams in the entire country at the time as well.
Also by this time of year it's worth noting that the USSSA season is already over at every level

Who started Traction btw?
