George C Marshall basically had to put his foot down and tell Churchill the Americans are invading France. You can either cooperate or we're taking our ball and going home.

Marshall was right about 1944, but we were far too overzealous to invade France in 1942 or 1943 like we originally wanted. Churchill and the British did have a point. We didn't have the manpower or the resources to cross the English Channel at that point in time. Not only that, the lessons learned in Torch, Husky, Avalanche, and Shingle were invaluable in preparing us for Overlord. I'd argue the invasion of France would have been far more costly and less likely to succeed if not for the lessons learned in Africa, Sicily, and Italy.

That and we hadn't broken the Luftwaffe's back yet.

And let's not forget Germany's U-Boat threat in 42 and 43 was still very real.

Not as potent as the years leading up to that time, but still able to do damage to large convoys.

An interesting fact: Sir Winston died on the same calendar day as did his father, and he had predicted that years before.

Damn son, tell the world how stupid you are in just two sentences. He didn't start WWII and he hated communism before it was cool to hate communism.

That's a hard question. Damn.

Both of them brought something different to the table and successfully avoided trying to impersonate the man.

Churchill wasn't even in government when Britain declared war on Germany in 1939.

lol... but don't let us keep an uninformed thought keep us from developing historically inaccurate characterization from shaping our world view...

Keep reading your Maxwell textbooks.
Look at the end results not the propaganda.
How many white Christians died on both sides to have the 3rd world take over now?
Do you hate Christianity? Why was it ok for the Russians to invade Poland. The actual Polish people were happy not the dirty Bolsheviks who had imposed themselves on the Polish people.
The sad thing is you can look at the world now and see what it has become and you people still think that it you are correct.
What about Patton’s thoughts after the war?

Churchill's #1 priority was the preservation of the British Empire because, at the end of the day, he was an imperialist.

This is true. But other motives were also true with respect to Churchill (who may be one of WW2's greatest enigmas.)

He was also a compensated sock-puppet for certain political interests, privately regarded the serfs as lowly expendable fools; was a blood-lusting SOB. And knew a WW2 portended a Global Reset. Yet he also inspired as
a bulldog avatar for his people and understood his role as FDR's shotgun rider.

Churchill was the most important figure of the 20th Century. The right man for the right job at the right time. Without his leadership and steely resolve, England would have folded in 1940. He never gave up even when everything seemed absolutely hopeless and they stood alone against Germany. Dragged Roosevelt against his will into the war with Lend Lease and convoy protection. Roosevelt was weak and never would have been able to take the appropriate action without Churchill constantly badgering him. He is the man who won World War 2 and saved Western democracy. And then the English unceremoniously dumped him in 1946. Bunch of ingrates!

If you’ve never been to The Churchill War Room Museum in London, you have to make plans to go. It’s incredible!
