I would go on a Alaskan cruise.

The wife and I will be taking an Alaska cruise next summer. Anyone have experience?

Thank you.......Oceania is my favorite cruise line. Small ships, just a bunch of old farts like me and the ship basically shuts down around 9pm

I did one. It was amazing! And it was on Carnival too. Granted it was 15 years ago and the ex-MiL paid for it. I’d go back in a heartbeat on a better cruise line.

You don’t get the trashy people on those.

all on Seabourn
Seabourn really spoils you. Stock your in room bar with your preferences, everything included, 24hr room service, Penfold’s wine, all ocean view or balcony rooms.
I much prefer small ship sailing. The 3000+ passenger cruises have no appeal to me. I think we had 360 passengers and the same amount of crew on the Seabourn cruise I took.
It’s funny because Seabourn is owned by carnival corp I think.

It’s not just carnival, it’s the whole concept that gives me the ick

Fly to a unique, international cruise port and avoid the local riff-raff.

wtf do yall see in them?
Personally, my favorite thing about cruising is sitting on the balcony overlooking the clear blue water as far as the eye can see. That is a view that automatically puts me at peace, no matter what. This is the major selling point that will keep me sailing for a long time.
Beyond that, I enjoy having entertainment and dining options available, that doesn't involve me having to travel any.
I don't gamble, but the floating casinos is a major selling point for many people as well.
It's not for everyone, and I totally respect that. I have zero desire to convince anyone to like it.

It is. Polar opposite of Carnival. The customer service is unparalleled. You want Woodford stocked in your room? Done. Fridge stocked with local beer? Burger or BLT at 2am to your room? Done. Phenomenal. They actually quiz the staff on facial recognition of passengers. Certain staff have to get 90% or better, or they don’t get their contracts extended.

you couldn't pay me to go spend a week at orange beach, gulf shores, destin like every other middle class family.
Here on the East coast at least we have Myrtle Beach, a whole lot more to do for the adults than just dragging all your crap out into the sand every day and drinking yourself into oblivion.
Of course, I know adults that have weeks planned together for a week on the Outer Banks. I'd be bored out of my skull by day 3. I mean, I'm gonna go fishing and play golf anyway.

Stay away from carnival and you will be fine. Cruises are great on the right line.
Hell, I had a blast on overnight ferries in the Greek isles. We brought our own booze and played cards and just did what kids in their early 20s do. No TV. No phones. Just the sea and co-eds and ouzo and Mythos beer. And cigarettes. And maybe hash.
This was the 90s.

You get what you pay for. If you want less "fatigued" travelers you need to pay for it.
There are high end cruise lines, adventure cruise lines, small ship cruise lines...

Going on a 7 day Eastern Caribbean RC Icon of the Seas cruise in 2026. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I get the beach for families with kids. It's easier than other types of trips with kids for sure.
My childless girlfriends love panhandle trips and I just can't get into it myself. The drive, having to grocery shop, lugging stuff down every day, getting bloated on beer in the sun, either cooking dinner or going to some sort of restaurant loaded with vacationers and often kids (depending on where you are)... meh.
Like I said, I can manage to make it a good time when I'm there, but I'll just never pick it for myself.

Princess Alaskan cruise is the tits. Carnival Caribbean cruise is the opposite of that.
