I was once at a restaurant with my parents and Valerie Bertinelli's party was at the table next to us. She was probably 16 or 17 years-old. I remember thinking that little Valerie had grown up. I mean the girl was a complete smoke show. I think she still looks pretty good even with the extra pounds.

Robbie Benson was on teen magazines almost monthly for a couple years there along with Leif Garrett and Shaun Cassidy. All the girls in class had them.

I actually saw that movie in a theatre. The homosexual aspect of the Billie Joe was really awkward in 1976. Plus, the song was extremely popular in 1967 and was cryptic about why Billy Joe committed suicide. Prior to seeing the movie, the idea of Billy Joe committing suicide due to having a homosexual encounter never entered my mind.
