and the economic impact IMO, doesn't come close
Economic impact for both is really still growing (notice the Hyatt is still closed and tax dollars lower because fewer people living there etc)
If the spill creates issues with the oil industry as a whole, which it is doing now, then the WROLDWIDE economy will suffer and have a much much larger economic impact on teh local, state, US, and world economies. IMHO

Moretorium is an Obama problem... not a oil leak problem. Obama hand picked his own advisory board and even those enviromentalist voted that the moretorium would be more of a safety risk than no moretorium. Obama caused problem, the oil is just his excuse to shut down home grown fossil fuel development.

NO way the spill (including moratorium) are near Katrina.
Majority of the costs incurred in this clean-up thus far have been wastes of time and effort.

Folks who believe that this spill is worse than Katrina go immediately into the mental group "Always Ignore Because They Are Stupid and Don't Even Know It" right alongside those that vehemently believe that we never went to the moon.

Well I don't know about that, I would say that more people were severely impacted by katrina.
How stupid are you? What part of 850,000 housing units destroyed or damaged is somehow even remotely in the same ball park as 10,000 jobs?

Hurricane Katrina = 1,836 confirmed deaths
Oil Spill = 13 confirmed death (11 in explosion, 2 oil related and) 17 injuries
Not even close.

becuase of the loss of life in katrina, this is no where near the disaster katrina was
we can rebuild our fish industry may take years and years but you can't rebuild lives once they are lost they are lost

Oil spill isnt tallied up yet but imo Katrina was much much worse. Literally billions in damage and hundreds of thousands of people out of work and displaced. Not even close.

Katrina = 100 rating
Moretorium = 2
Oil Spill = .05
That is about the relative horror rating of each of these disasters.

So Obama is to blame for BP, but not Bush and the response to Katrina. Laughable at best.
He is responsible for the moratorium. That's what has caused the so called economic disaster.
