This would be on a 1/2 ton pickup. Trying to compare it to the MoPar warranty. Happy or unhappy?

i bet you'd get a better answer on a forum dedicated the particular vehicle you're asking about.

you'll get a better sample size.

I say the same thing but no it doesn’t help. Probably helped you to piss on the question but pretty ignorant. Do you have nothing better do do that you now have to non answer posts here? Move on bro.

LDS is a very good company, and well funded(so they pay when responsible), so many shops honor their policies

I second LDS being a good company. They paid for two repairs for my 6.7 Powerstroke. They didn’t charge me my deductible twice when the dealer didn’t fix a problem and my mechanic did. They also paid for the replacement of all my injectors. They took care of me better than any warranty related items that I had with any previous new vehicles, including Toyota.

I'm always surprised that these companies stay in business.

From the rave reviews on the internet, you'd think they must lose their bet on every policy sold.

Guess I've been lucky. I've never had a major repair on a vehicle my entire life. Probably break down today.

I sell LDS policies, never had a complaint with them. They don't look for ways not to pay claims, in my experience. Wynn's however, is trash.

I purchased a truck in Louisiana and got the LDS warranty. I moved out of state and a few years later started having transmission problems at about 80,000 miles. The out of state dealership dealt with LDS for its first time and told me that was the easiest warranty company they ever had to deal with it.

my answer is absolutely relevant to the question.

i have recently bought a car warranty on my wife's higher end type car. It was through endurance. bells and whistle warranty bla bla bla. Coolant leak, didn't pay for the pipes and hoses. Had an engine mount issue, endurance goes by the all data labor hour book and only pays your average mechanic wage in your area. Dealership was something like $50-$60 more per hour than what warranty wanted to pay and the dealership goes by their own labor hour book of the manufacturer so they can bend you right over. So, something that warranty said was 5-6 hours, dealership wanted to charge abour 14-15 hours at their higher rate. Then it had the full tire coverage bullshite. Wife had a nail, fine print was $150 per tire with a $600 policy max. Got $150 for a $500 tire.

best advice, just find a reasonable trust worthy mechanic that is good with your type of vehicle. Save your warranty monies and just know when you pay a reasonable mechanic, its well worth money spent.

Now i'm cancelling the fricking contract and i had to go notarize a piece of paper with my vehicle mileage... no telling how i'm about to get fricked on that.

I think i have heard decent things about LDS, is that the company that's owned by someone in LA?

Louisiana Auto dealers own the company and share losses or gains. I bought one when I had to get a used truck after I totaled mine in 23.

I had good experiences with them on my last truck. F150 with full roof sun/moonroof needed a complete replacement. They covered it without any hassle. Would’ve been several thousand without it.

Just picked up a 2023 f150 and purchased same warranty again. Hopefully won’t need it, but nice to have. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

I was an auto mechanic at a Chrysler Jeep dealer in New Orleans for many years. Louisiana Dealer Services is great insurance. They hardly ever declined to cover any work that was needed to repair a vehicle. Great insurance.

I friend on this board called me late one Sunday evening, he had problems with his car. I loaded up headed his way. When I got to them, he had found his LDS contract. Being Sunday night, I said let’s call them. The guy that runs LDS is a good friend of mine. I called him, put my friend on the phone, he told him what to do. Everything was handled after the call. I helped to get his car back to his place, the next morning he called the dealership, they picked up the car, repairs made.

2020 Sierra, got the 7yr 100,000 mile warranty with LDS.

At 63,000 miles they replaced my torque converter. Had to pay around $200 for a couple things not covered.

At 97, 600 miles they replaced my water-pump and thermostat. Had to pay around $370 for that. That was for 2 belts.

Overall I've been happy with them. Please note that the price they give you for the warranty is negotiable. If they tell you 2000, cut it in half and offer 1000.

I was in car buisness for 15 yrs in BR, sales for the majority of that time, then in service Dept.

I knew everyone that worked there and all of the warranty guys, most of which were ex Mechanics, 5 yrs in service, never ever had a claimed denied, been out the buisness since 92, just my opinion if you buy a new vehicle today and don't purchase and extended warranty big mistake, pay for a tranny or evaporator core ac repair lately. just my take

Yea that would sour me too. I e never bought an extended warranty because I maintain my trucks well and don’t abuse them. But that was back before Biden caused the price of everything to triple and everything was made in China. Have to live with that and a fairly new engine in the Dodge Ram hurricane so probably will go with the LDS extended warranty. When they don’t advertise heavy that is usually a good sign.

From the viewpoint of an independent repair shop, LDS sucks. LDS insisted that I use OEM parts to repair an A\C job. 4 days later the GM compressor failed. Internal bearing issue, it vibrated so badly when clutch would engage that it was backing the mounting bolts out. So I call the dealer I sourced parts from, sent me replacement parts, informed me there was no labor reimbursement. Called LDS, was also told to kick rocks. Made my decision simple, don't accept any of them anymore.

Isn’t there a law that insurance companies have to adjust claims based on OEM parts? When I buy a warranty I want them to cover with OEM parts not some Chinese crap. Yea I get that some OEM is crap but you have to have some standard to apply or the warranty companies will cover only crappy replacements. A warranty is to give you what you bought, not an upgrade.
