Great revolvers. Kind of heavy, but thick. I own about 5. Ruger Super BlackHawk SS .357 is my favorite. You can't go wrong. They will last your lifetime. No regrets.
Sadly they were all lost crossing a bayou in my pirogue during a hurricane that triggered an earthquake tsunami.

Can be used interchangeably according to the NRA:
LINK
One authoritative source, The NRA Firearms Sourcebook, defines a pistol as “a generic term for a hand-held firearm. Often used more specifically to refer to a single-shot, revolver or semi-automatic handgun.”
Then there’s the historical record. Though there’s debate over whence the term “pistol” arose, by the late 16th century it was commonly used to describe any hand-held gun. It even appeared in works by William Shakespeare. Then along came Samuel Colt, who described his cylinder-firearm invention as a “revolving pistol.”
“Pistol” was an established part of the vernacular long before the semi-auto handgun. Therefore it’s safe to say all handguns are pistols, and all pistols are handguns.

I have a SR9, very solid gun. Shoots well, never any issues with it.

I think I'm getting a .22 SR pistol
The Ruger hasn't been shot since I bought the M&P.
Obviously, YMMV.

All Ruger guns are reliable in my opinion. My 30 06 has never missed even though I pushed it this year with 250-300 yard walking deer shot. Pistols are great, Ar is great They are just a good damn gun maker.

I have a few of them. Two .22 pistols, .357 revolver, rifle. two LCR .380s.
All great.
The ears broke off the bolt on a Mark II 22 that I had for many years. I wrote Ruger, and they sent me a new bolt free of charge.
That was the only issue I've had, and they fixed it, so I'm a fan.

This.
I've had a bunch of Rugers of various configurations: semi-auto rimfire pistols, rimfire rifles (bolt action and semi-auto) centerfire revolvers and centerfire semi-auto's. None of them have disappointed me.

Ruger GP100 Match Champion, 22/45, .30-06 American, and a Red Label 12ga...all have been flawless as far as reliability. All manufactures aside from a few custom shops will ship a few lemons but Ruger is a very safe bet.

The only bad revolver I've ever seen or heard of is the charter arms. For god sakes don't buy those. Any other revolver is honestly almost impossible to frick up. Manufacturers have to try and mess it up

Ruger is probably my favorite big-name American firearm brand.
I can't wait to get myself a ruger guide gun and hopefully at some point down the line one of the big revolvers.

Have owned the SR1911 for a good while now...have no idea how many rounds have been through it but it's a shite ton...never, ever had a single issue. Changed all the springs in it a couple of years ago and it only got better. Would buy again.
