I don't hate trail cameras, I hate people trying to show me 100 pictures of hogs and deer on their trail camera that I don't give a shite about. I don't bring up fishing unless it is brought up by someone else or I know someone is interested in talking about it.

Very true, but that’s in whitetail country. Out west that’s not very true.

If I went to a waterhole with more than one camera I’d absolutely move on, that’s nuts.

It will have to be enforced by lowering limits to offset the harvest of camera birds by shite hunters that wouldn’t otherwise kill a bird.

I’ve enjoyed trail cams in the past but kinda gave them up 3-4 yrs ago. Trespassers have me considering getting back in the game, unfortunately.

Has created an entire generation of "hunters" who don't actually know how to hunt.

Cameras took a lot of the excitement out of it for me.

It wouldn’t be hard to ban on private land. The wildlife doesn’t belong to the private landowner. Just use the fair chase argument

It won’t be any harder to ban than anything else on private property (spotlighting/baiting if illegal/shell capacity for waterfowl) enforcing will be the problem.
But I’m sure the neighbors and social media post will help with enforcement!!

I guess they don't have a hog problem in AZ. Because everyone in know in the South uses them nor for slaying deer, but for trapping and ridding the states of pigs.

With the cell versions the theory is that folks will get a pic sent to there phone and head out to take the animal

Works damn well too. Don't hunt AT ALL until you start getting daytime pictures of the one you want, then go blast him.

I fricking hate them. They totally ruined deer hunting for me. I refuse to own one and I do my best to not see any pictures or pay attention to any of it, but its impossible to escape. Now I just meat hunt. There's no excitement in killing a deer that 20 people have seen every angle there is of already. I want the first time people to see my deer to be hanging in the skinning rack. Makes the wholeexperience so much more special.

A camera on private land is a security camera.

Stupid euphemism for a redneck or “good ole boy”. Think it originated here as a joke, but it has been run into the ground after ad nauseam usage. Whatever humor it may have evoked when it originated has
Long since been drummed out of it. Now it just makes its users sound stupid.

Just read an article the other day about deer population and how it might have to be commercialized for food at some point being there are just so many now. If we were in a different situation with deer and there were a shortage im sure I would be against them.

In western states, it's not uncommon to see a handful or more in 1 spot on public land because the water is so limited. It creates hunter conflict when so many people are focused on one small area and pattern the big game expecting to show up and hunt only to my assholes to elbows with the other people doing the same thing.

On public land in LA, TX and OK, I've never had an issue with that.

Simple solution - sell off all public lands.

Easy peasy

Unpopular opinion:

I am okay with this though it doesn't impact me. In general there are way too many cameras in the world. I am all for not teching up nature.

I am find with it on public lands, I think they should be. Private land though not so much. However Cell cams I can see the argument for a complete ban, or maybe put delays in the picture being sent.

For whitetail guys it help to keep scent out of an area.

One thing I can definitely get behind for a hunting ban is self adjusting scopes.

No clue how lol. Not sure why it is a big deal anyway. Could see ban on the wifi ones, but not sd ones

I see it the other way. I forsee a WIFI cam being labeled as a security device, as it is live and would deter tresspassers, whereas a SD cam is only good for after the fact.
