I've never had a Beretta, but have a Benelli SBE II, have been totally satisfied with.

I had issues with Remington 1100 shotguns, never had issues with Browning A5, so that prompted me to go inertia driven vs. gas operated. That was years ago, and I'm sure its all been improved...

I'm not much of a duck hunter so my opinion may not be worht much. But I really don't love my Beretta and find my Benelli Supernova to be a kickass shotgun. It feels good and it works good.

If I were doing much with guns these days (kids, business, fly fishing seems to be more important now) I'd sell the Silver Pigeon and buy a Benelli replacement.

, I have to tell you, I own a Benelli M2 20ga, a Beretta A400 xcel 12ga, Winchester SX4 12ga, two SX4 20ga, and a Browning Gold Hunter 12ga, and I would look really hard at the SX4.
I have a M2 in 20 and 12, a SBE2 in 12, Montefeltro in 20, Retay 12, and SX4 in 12. I will tell you the Winchester is a good gun. I have hell with Benellis, the M2s I love, the SBE I am not too fond of. I find myself shooting the Retay more than most as I am saving the SX4 to gift my 14 year old as his shooter.

I will get a Beretta A400 in the next little bit, I think from shooting a buddies that this is my gun.

Now, for dove hunting, the Montefeltro is the finest shotgun I have ever shot. Just too damn nice to put in a pit blind.

Depends what you prefer

Ergonomics, cleaner shooting, and lighter weight - Benelli
Less recoil - Beretta

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted lol, this is objectively correct and not up for debate

I’m torn and tempted to just say “Why not both?”
I shoot a Benelli m2 and absolutely love it. My next duck gun will be a beretta because “why not both”

That said, Benelli SBE is THE duck gun all across the south.

Converted to SBE 20 gauge this year and love it. Was shooting Browning Maxus 12 gauge. To be fair to the Browning, which I love, if they made the Maxus in 20 I probably would have bought that. But love the SBE!

All that to say....you can never go wrong with any of the Big 3 "B's" being:

Browning
Beretta
Benelli

Benelli because I clean once a year.

Whoa. You run a tight ship.

I fully clean mine about once every 3 years. I'll spray a little rem oil once about mid way through each season in between cleanings.

I'm a big benelli fan. I currently have...

12 ga. 3.5" Nova
20 ga. 3" montefeltro
12 ga. 3" montefeltro
12 ga 3.5" SBEII

When I was shopping, the Winchester actually felt and shouldered best. The guy I was dealing with asked me, "How often do you clean your guns?" Based upon my answer he told me not to fool with gas.

I have an sx3. I used to clean mine once a year and ran into cycling issues because I was leaving too much oil. It likes to be dry. When I used to hunt I then started just spraying solvent and wiping the action down every few years and it was flawless. With what I put it through the internals stayed surprisingly clean.

I have two SBE's one I bought in 1995 that I use for flying critters because it somehow always hits where I'm looking. The other is synthetic and setup with a reddot for shooting big Tungsten loads at public land hogs.
