There is less than zero percent chance that’s free range.

A lot of pen deer have white antlers. Something definitely injured that one side while he was in velvet. That's the only thing that says pen deer to me. You would be surprised what is killed along the river that never gets publicized. We used to hunt a place that had a 230" deer on the wall, and part of one side was broken off. They never had it officially scored or entered into any books. A guy killed a 186" out there several years ago and ran to the LA sportsman with it. The land owner got pissed. That piece of shite that charges people with trespassing on Saline lake owns that property now.

Also, the NE LA genetics were downgraded if anything by the imported deer. The literature is available on the LDWF website if anyone feels like digging it up. LA can very easily grow a wild deer like that.

Anywhere could grow a freak if he got old enough with the right nutrition and good genetics.
Even in South Arkansas where the average mature deer is in the 120's for most, you still get an occasional 150 and the rare 170-180 on occasion.

So it's not impossible for that to be free range, but the way that left side has all the tines blunted off the same does look like a fence injury...

Also if you go to said High Fence places, FB page you will see a couple of bucks that look very similar.

Doesn't make him guilty based on that, just my suspicion I suppose.

No way are those Dubach genetics, more like Illinois or Saskatchewan. Dubach deer are not known for their mass. I almost guarantee it came off a high fence place close to there - there are a couple

that said nothing about that deer screamed north Louisiana to me.

Agree but I have seen/heard of some studs being shot in that area. My son when he was at Tech a few years back took a picture of an absolute brute over by the Wal Mart in Ruston and didn't a B&C buck get shot a few years ago near Choudrant. Never really knew that area was such a trophy hotspot but all in all though this buck looks like a Fred that had an ear tag before this pic was taken.

I know several “buddies” with pens and growing anything over 250 is impressive and rare. They are always losing one to some kind of ailment.
There is no way that’s a natural born lived in the wild since birth louisiana deer!!

I know the area well, along with what is killed there. Every year there will be a couple with good tine length and spread, but they’re always lacking mass. Much better deer are killed around the Boy Scout Camp in Point Wilhite. They got some studs in there but still nothing like you’ll find in Concordia, Catahoula, or Avoyelles

10k?? Lmfao try 20k if it was a deal 15k but thats not a 10k deal.
Got a buddy that owns The Santsanctuary in Woodvile ms.
I can promise you that price 10k isnt gonna be enough to pay for a brut like that.

I have a buddy that killed a 165 when he was in school at Tech. Bowkill in city limits and tracked that thing for like two miles. I think I remember him saying he tracked him across a park and a school playground. Crazy story but the deer was an absolute hammer.

Must’ve been the one shot behind walmarks. Another big one was shot by a dentist in St Francisville city limits.

I live around Dubach. No way a deer was allowed to get that big unless a high fence (I think there’s a place in downsville and Sterlington).

Around here a deer is lucky to get big enough to be a 6 point.

I killed the largest deer in my life (8 point) in 1998 since then I’ve seen maybe a handful of small racked 8 points and a 10 point

“that’s not a 10k deal”

I know a guy that went to,a deer pen in Kentucky and shot a 30k buck and it wasn’t as big as the one in Dubach.
His multimillionaire boss took him there and paid for it.
