I have the joy of working this weekend. Friday and Saturday look to be wet and cool. Sunday highs in amite county is low 30’s during the day with rain forecast. The low Sunday night here is 22 with clear skies hopefully. I’m not concerned about driving to work Sunday morning but Sunday evening may be a little slick. We shall see.

Next week will be brutally cold all week.

We’re east of yall. North of Meridian. I’m shocked how different the weather forecast is. Our low Saturday night into Sunday is 36° with a Sunday high of 40°

Fayette is showing a Saturday night into Sunday low of 25° and not really warming up enough

Sleeping in a tent sucks in this weather, too.

Loup you always tent camp? I'm having to make a decision on getting a tent setup, cargo trailer or older camper. Debating on getting a Tuff Stuff Overland or spending the money on a cargo trailer/camper.

SW Mississippi yeah, or I just hunt a day and drive home. Sometimes I'll sleep in the back of my truck. I have a little two person tent that I'll use for overnight trips when the weather is nice and a 6 person that I use for longer trips or when I want to run a heater in the morning to make getting dressed easier. I hunt NF so dispersed camping is allowed. It's fun to camp at the trailhead gate and not have to drive to get to where you're hunting.

I get so damned aggravated setting up a tent and such if I'm only staying for a night or two. I wish I had a cargo trailer with everything in it and ready to go. If it were me I'd get whatever had the least amount of setup/takedown time and least hassle packing up at home to go.

Cargo trailer would be ideal, but double to price point of the tent setup. Either setup would just stay on our lease for the season. The tent has a hard case that it goes into when not in use, but is made to be high over the bed of the truck. Would be able to use the tent setup to go out West and hunt also.

That's where our place is. Going to keep watch and may have to roll out after Saturday morning hunt.

Do you have to setup/takedown the truck tent every time you want to move the truck or does it stay on the ground?

You can take it off or leave it on the truck from what it looks like. Less than 5 minute set up.

Friend of mine is looking to sell one like this.

I am in Meadville on the river and it looks like the ice line will miss us but there is not telling what will happen. I will keep an eye on things through the day saturday and decide accordingly.
If anyone out that way need help i should be around until Sunday. I will bookmark this page. Good luck to those going out and be safe.

Take a look at the “camper” that redneck blind is selling.
I have a Kodiak Canvas tent that I mostly use out West. Really comfortable.
