Loved my luminox until it got water in it and rusted to hell. Have a cheap model bertucci that's been good, but then bought a hook & gaff and have worn it almost every day for the last 3+ yrs. Love it, but they've gone up in price a good bit, it appears.

Any other waterproof watches you baws are sporting?

I bought this one after my luminox and have had it ever since. Replaced steel band with blue canvas strap to match:

Mine is 13 years old and still works. Changed the band once. Battery 3 times. The only thing that needs replacement is is the o-ring that seals the battery hatch. I don't remember paying a ton for it but when I looked recently for a new one I thought they seemed way overpriced. I would rather pay for a nice garmin, which i have found to be reliable me and great for outdoors. Yeah. The more I think of it, garmin over luminous if you're looking for a watch to beat up and put to work in the elements.

I wouldn’t buy another Luminox, doesn’t keep good time at all. My GShock Mudmaster is much better.

I’ve got 3 in a dresser drawer. First one I never had an issue with aside from it felt like I had a brick on my wrist. The luminous dial is very weak on it now, I was about to bring it out of retirement. The titanium one I loved, but it feel 40’ from platform at plant to the ground below. Hasn’t worked right since. The other was a POS, had to adjust time daily.

Just bought a carbon, but I’m thinking of sending it back after reading this thread and just get a G Shock or something.

I’ve had one for years and no longer wear it due to band issues. If you get one do not get the rubber band. Quality is terrible and they break.

Meh, have two Luminox watches. One quit working after a battery change, the other is still going but I rarely wear it. My daily has been a mechanical Seiko Sports 5 or a Seiko solar chronograph, they always work.

Any luminox fans out there? Pros? Cons?

I wore a Luminox Pointman for 4 years.

Pros: It’s a good looking watch. Sapphire crystal is a must.

Cons:
-the strap broke immediately. Like absurdly so. I bought a knockoff pvd band from Amazon for $20 that lasted for the rest of its life.
- for a watch that’s supposed to be Navy SEAL tough, this thing looked ten years old after a year of wear. I was really disappointed by how well it held up.

For what’s it’s worth, I’d rather my GShock every day over the Luminox. Hell I have a Garmin that I’d wear over the Luminox for still $200 cheaper than the list price.

Nice looking watch. I've owned a Luminox for many years and have been told the quality has gone down considerably over that time. I don't wear it enough to notice the dial brightness but I'm sure it's waning.

most wear G Shocks, Suunto, Garmin.
The Navy issued a G Shock to my SWCC nephew. He said that's what they were issuing at that time.

I gave him one of these to wear with his Whites. I've got a regular black one just like it.

I have a solar & automatic Seiko's.

I've had a lot of trouble keeping the automatic one wound. I don't want to wear it every day. When it runs down, I have to take it to a Seiko dealer to get it started back up.

I'm wearing a Timex Expedition Shock analog that looks a like this except it's all black with orange and white markings on the dial. It's only good for 100 meters. I wear it more than any of the others.

How do you like the Bertucci? I have considered one of the titanium’s with tritium tubes.

A Luminox would be more than fine, but if you're diving with it multiple times a week and don't want to break the bank (and don't want to deal with an automatic watch) I would suggest the Casio marlin: LINK

I picked one of these up, and bang for buck they're near the top of the list. Per all the reviews, they function as advertised. Punches way above it's price point.

Stay away from luminox. Mine is garbage and I know 5 others who say the same. Mine never kept good time and the second hand landed in between numbers on half the face. Drove me nuts. Then one day I jumped in the pool and it was full of water. Know two others that did the same, and another two whose hands just randomly fell off one day. Also their rubber bands break constantly.

If you want plain but reliable I’d go bertucci and they can be had for $100.

I wear my Luminox mostly when I fish. its super light weight, and you can read the time on those long nights sleeping on a bean bag in the gulf. the top bead did fall off though.

Citizen solar and seko are my daily wear.
