PAC is a pain in the arse to figure, I’ve tried for yrs to use Coco but I think it’s just to far away to be useful and with so many things that can affect it I just starting using the floodgate to read the water level real-time
I’m sure someone has got it figured out doe

If there is a lot of rain up north it also keeps water from coming in as much too, although I don’t think that would have been an issue this weekend.

Only been offshore before on a charter trip a few times and its been probably 10 years since the last one. Why not give it a shot in a yak?

Didn't exactly get a meat haul out of it but made for a good learning trip for next time

Man I’d love to do that, heading to Ft Walton soon so looking at some yak rentals for the afternoon so hopefully be able to get wet

I did end up hitting PAC yesterday, water was high AF but clean so was able to put together a box but was surprised to find trout still hang around

Went out of Navarre. They have a dedicated kayak launch there with wooden boardwalk from the parking lot over the sand dune so you only have to pull over actual sand for maybe the last 100 feet. And they have a few hoses by the launch to rinse your stuff off. Definitely a nice setup and the reefs aren’t that far out. Mile to mile and a half from shore

So it looks like my In Laws will be renting a house on Marathon Key next June for a family trip. Looking at the satellite pics the house is on a waterway which leads right out to the bay. I want to bring my yak.

I figure out there I’m going to be fishing for anything, right?

I can never seem to figure PAC out, I did our tournament there last weekend and was surprised to still be catching trout in places you wouldn't expect them to be. I caught a couple on topwater in about 12" of water just a couple feet off the bank. Caught a couple reds but nothing to write home about.

Is it discontinued or something? Its not on Ascend's website and both Bass Pro and Cabela's sites show it as unavailable.

Your post was the first I heard of it and I looked it up. Seems well thought out and a great layout for anyone that was planning on running a trolling motor.

Its a very "ok" launch for a yak. The main issue is that there is very limited fishable areas around there. If you are wanting something in that area the launch off Nelson Rd. is cool and different. Its got a mix of reds and bass back there.
